They warned us about peer pressure in middle school...all that talk of sex, alcohol, and drugs... who would've ever imagined that it would work on turbo setups and diesel swaps
Lol, well I wanted twins originally and I talked myself out of it but then you guys brought it up and then I looked into it with the turbo I just bought and now I realized its relatively cheap/easy to do.
Well guys, I had all my stuff stolen out of the rental yesterday in San Fransisco so I may hold off on buying anything for the truck because I need to replace all my stolen items. My coworker and I were out to dinner when it happened and we got back and all our stuff is gone they even got my expedition keys so now I have to figure out how to get my spare keys for it so I can leave the airport with it this afternoon when I land back in Boston.
That's ****ty. Did you file a police report? This may be a dumb question, but does any of the insurance on the rental car cover stolen property? Would your company consider replacing it since you were on a business trip?
Yeah it sucks, it was under my coworker but I don't think the rental covers stolen property. I'm working with my boss now while on the plane lol to figure out what's going to happen they stole our work equipment too which isn't good at least I had he important stuff on me only stuff they got was clothes and chargers. They did get my passport, Oakley glasses and regular glasses though which sucks but at least I don't need my glasses for anything but reading. Passport is the only really disturbing part.
If you don't have something like Lifelock, now would be a excellent time to sign up. Your passport has enough information to start opening up credit cards in your name.....
Dealer or if you have auto enginuity then buy the key online with the chip and have any key place cut it. Home depot does them. Then use AE to program said new key. Costs a quarter of dealer. Can be upwards of $100 per key at dealer.
I wouldn't be certain but I know that our local locksmith that has a mobile van can make/provide replacement keys for chipped vehicles in their store, I sort of assumed their van I see cruising around could do it too but who knows?
Ahh I see in general you mean. I thought from the theft that you were going to be left stranded with no keys.
If you've got a good local locksmith I'd be surprised if they couldn't do it a lot cheaper than the dealer.
