Wow! I should do that under my cab it's a mess right now probably would be a good idea on the frame as well I've already had some areas that I used POR come off and peel away because the metal wasn't rusty so the POR didn't stick well.
No not yet it was alright I was there for maybe 5 hours I flew in Thursday and left Friday at noon so I didn't spend much time there lol. Hopefully I'll get to work on to this Thursday after I'm done with classes for the week. Gonna prep the bed floor for POR.
I'm back! My apologies been extremely busy at work. I got the bar stock cut to size and half drilled. I plan to drill through and drill the bed floor tonight and prep for POR. I'll take pics! I'll need to order some bolts as well now.
I apologize guys ive been working on the truck just have not taken pictures because i keep getting pulled away and going back so i pic up where i left off and it just escapes my mind lol.
I will post pics tonight but what i got done this weekend was i removed the fuel pump/ injection lines off the cummins and started to disassemble to the point of where i need to clean and paint it then i am going to rebuilt the injection pump as well as the vac and power steering pumps since they are very modular.
I also got the bed supports completely off minus the front one and i have cut the new square stock to length. I just need to drill teh holes in the supports now and then the floor however i cannot get all the way through with my drill so i am going to use the drill press my grandfather has to finish and then center punch and drill the bed floor out . I got the monstaliner delivered this morning i am going to POR tonight and monstaliner the bed tomorrow. Then i just have to get some friends to help me put the bed back on this weekend!
I am anticipating a small problem with the rear most support that had the spacers. I checked the measurement and realized that the Ex tank sits above the frame where the spare tire cross brace did't. I may have to pull that brace out after the bed is on if it sits on the ex tank and cut a section out to clear the tank but that will be easy after the bed is on.
Some pictures of my progress, i stood the bed up last night in order to keep the paint from running down the sides and instead to the front. I also started to strip the cummins down for paint on the drivers side. I got the injection lines PS/Vac pumps removed and now i just need to pull the injection pump and clean the block then paint and do mods!
I have that thing is absolutely beautiful! I am simply going for black and Gray though to match the truck but dont worry I will make it look pretty. Unfortunately i dont have the time or space to go as in depth as that but I'm doing all black with some gunmetal gray accents.

One thing I saw in Scotty's thread is that he used oven cleaner to clean the block off before painting. That stuff is bonafide jack.
Oven cleaner omg that's genius! I have degreased the passenger side of the block 5 times and there is still oil and grease all over it, i will have to get some when i get home today and coat it while i paint the bed! Maybe I'll be painting the bloack this weekend if it works well enough lol.
