Yesterday was my Bday, and we went out to eat twice, then for frozen yogurt. Today my work is buying lunch for my Bday, tonight we begin the weight loss journey, till Tuesday when work buys lunch for a co-worker, then there's Taco Tuesday, then.... Then... Then...

I don't work out, and it shows people quit asking if I work out, its blatantly obvious LOL!! . I used to work out a little with free weights, but I had a fear of getting pinned without a spotter. Plus I am a little or a lot lazy.

LOL!!!

I have started to train myself to start drinking water again. My goal will be to cut down on sodas for a while and see what changes I see. Not sure how much will power I have.

Yeah, there was an article I read a few days ago, talking about how bad sodas were for you. Even one per day had serious health consequences. I am surprised I am not dead, considering I have drank almost nothing but diet soda for the last 30 years.

I'm torn on diet pop and what's acceptable. Everything I read agrees with Chad and states that it's worse than sugar. Then again, 33g of sugar for a can of coke is nothing great either, I eat that much sugar TOTAL in a WEEK when I'm keeping close to my diet.

Then you have Curt over here, diet pop for 30 years and as healthy as an ox! I just don't get it.................

Either way, I try to restrict myself as much as possible and only have a diet pop when we're eating at a restaurant or maybe 1 or 2 cans a week at home. Zevia is a great pop option with healthier alternative sweeteners, but they are kinda pricey and still not "exactly" like the pop I'm used to.

It's a struggle no matter which road we take! I think there is something to be said for cutting back on the pop and increasing water intake, I'm sure your body will appreciate the break from the sugar and\or chemicals

you'll really benefit from kicking sodas out the door. both reg & diet. I did it years ago, and i'm so happy i did. did as much good for me as quitting smoking.

All I drink is water, protein shakes, and a cup or 2 of coffee in the morning. and maybe 1-2 beers or glasses of wine a week lately.

Here's what I do, not that anybody cares, or even asked lol:
basically if i want something sweet, i have either a protein shake (my current powder is stevia sweetened, no added sugar), or an an apple/grapefruit/blueberries with nuts like raw almonds or walnuts (i eat the nuts with the fruit to slow down digestion and add in some fats/protein to make a mini-meal). Currently those are the only sweet tasting things i eat at all. The result? i had baked cabbage last night with pan fried shrimp, and the cabbage actually tasted like candy to me lolol! other side effects include dramatic fat loss, extreme animalistic workouts, righteous smooth poops, and satiety!

Same here, I shoot for only drinking water or coffee and maybe a couple beers a week.

We had a beef roast with cabbage in the slow cooker last night and my wife and I were just plugging away at the cabbage with a fork. It tastes like candy to us too now! lol

On the other side of this, I wonder how much healthier I would have been if it were not for the truck loads of pop I drink.
