Mongolian BBQ is where it is at-- all stuff good for you and steamed- If I go to a Chinese place that is what I get!

Down to 238.5 this morning!!!!!!! (in my jammies and t-shirt) I haven't broke 240 in a long time! It is a really happy day!

Wife got a new "Instant Pot" and we have been trying it. She says its a healthier way to cook, but I tend to disagree so far. She says that you just put all of your ingredients in together and let it do its thing, and its really fast. However, last night we were cooking with raw hamburger. I cooked the hamburger first in it, then drained the fat.. She didn't think I should have to do that, which is where we disagreed about how healthy this thing is supposed to be.

We made hamburger hash in it, using substitutes for what was really called for in the recipe, with what we had in the house. Despite not fully knowing how to use it, and having it on the wrong setting, it was quite good. However, I fail to see how the ingredients of this meal cooked in this fashion are healthier than if I pan fried it in a non stick pan. Also.. the ingredients were hash brown potatoes, cheese, hamburger, cream of chicken soup, and canned corn. (not sure at all how that is supposed to be healthy, just because it is cooked differently)

Well, it was good enough I had seconds, and it was all heavy food, so I was up again in weight.. surprise..surprise...

That's a huge load of saturated fat, salt, and starch!!!!! well, if you drained the fat, that's certainly good. anyway, you are right on the money. ... i started thinking about those ingredients, and i had a HUGE post all typed out ready to post about diabetes and heart disease lol! i deleted it cause i think i was ranting lol

good thing is that she is trying to help! i've said it before & i'll keep on saying it, i can't do it without my wife's help!

Woohoo! 240 was a really hard number for me to crack a month ago, now I'm stuck around 235. Just gotta start hitting the Mongolian BBQ like you do to bump under apparently

Instant pot is pretty neat, but I also wouldn't qualify it as "healthier" in any sort. You're still preparing the same food with the same good\bad ingredients, just expediting the process. Jamie used hers quite a bit when she got it for Christmas last year, but then it quickly fell back off her radar and she went back to her Crock-Pot. I actually have a "Crack Chicken" recipe for the instant pot that we'll be making this week. It contains bacon, chicken, cream cheese, shredded cheese, and a bunch of other seasonings. Hope it turns out alright, I've kinda missed the quickness that comes with cooking in the Instant Pot.

She was just excited about the speed of cooking mostly, but she tried to sell the idea to me like it was going to be healthier.. Well if that is the way it works lets make Pizza in it!!! LOL!!

Pizza Stew-- YUM!-- Reading on line the instapot isn't any healthier then anything else- it is just way faster-- Just another new fad going around for a year or so. Grandma used to use a pressure cooker much in the same manner.
Everyone brought fried chicken and brownies and cookies to the club meeting last night-- I had a salad--- from HOG WILD BBQ-- :-) salad with a little smoked brisket on top. MMmmmmmMMMMmmm good.

sitting at 203.5 this morning, there still may be hope to see 200 or below yet this week if I can avoid Self Destruct mode.

WHAT!!!?!?!?! Happy Birthday Rob!! Sorry We didn't Sing!! Chad is the best singer!!! (well.... )

I had steak and nearly gross old slimy lettuce salad for lunch yesterday, the two steaks for dinner and a little home made mashed potatoes. (I know.. heart disease..starch... etc... etc...)

Today I had a steak for lunch and broccoli. I didn't have salad because we are out of shredded cheese.
