Guys talking about getting a diesel in the V10 forum!!?? Sacrilege I say!!!
For those with less than stellar vocabulary:
Sacrilege is the violation or injurious treatment of a sacred object.
Don't you go using them .10 words on folk!
Lol my only beef is the sound of the V10. It took me 5 mufflers and 2 trucks to figure out what sounded good in my opinion. Still sounds better than a turd sucking Chevy
Hello everyone. Just got back from a 2 week fishing trip. Walleye and Pike. Had a great time.
Took the the 30ft travel trailer around northern Alberta, averaging 9 mpg pulling 8k lbs and a box load of gear.
Another week of work and I'll be gone fishing again. Gotta use up them vacation days.
Well the decision is made I've been looking at 2012 F350 DRW 6.2 and F450 V10 trucks and after comparing the cost and giving my old 2000 V10 a hard look we are keeping the old V10 and just putting a little money in it. We have had it form new and it still looks like new even after 121K miles, the only thing it's ever been used for is pulling our trailer. I plan on replacing the headlights, turn light lenses with 04 ones and installing an all chrome grill. The biggest thing I'm looking at is the transmission, it's not as firm as it was (I think it's the converter) from all the pulling (100K of the 121K) and I'm starting to look for a good shop that will rebuild a 4R100 for a V10 with a upgraded converter most specialize in diesel not gas. The motor still runs like new and has a lot of good miles left in it, I'm also looking at a 5 Star tuner. I can do all the repairs, upgrades and then some with what the sales tax, registration and insurance on a new one would cost.

Hey all, I have never introduced myself in the v10 forum, I have just finished reading through the entire "shooting the breeze" thread. I am from florida and have been working out of state for some time now, I am really looking forward to getting home sometime later this year. I am currently driving my economy vehical a 01 e250 with a v6, I get about 17mpg, I have a 08 f350 4x4 cc kr v10 4:30gears, back home in the garage on jack stands. My previous truck was an 06 f250 4x4 cc lariat 6.0psd, it was a sweet truck and although it never let me down, I was beginning not to trust it, mainly because of wierd problems friends of mine were beginning to have with theirs, like, low turbo boost, due to the radio going bad to name one, and I was becoming annoyed with the occasional turbo lag when I was pulling out in traffic. I sold that truck the day it hit the trader to a dealer in orlando for 30k and that was back in 08, I think we all remember what 08 was like. I then bought the 08 with the v10, I have to say it is the best truck I have ever owned, the only problem I have had with the truck was the notorious climate control blend door issue, which of coarse failed 1k miles out of warranty, but hey, thats the luck of the draw.As for those ninnies you hear bashing the v10's, they most likely have never drivin one, and I will take the pepsi challenge for reliability any day of the week against any oil burner, Sure they may get a little better milage, but I bet the overall saving per mile isn't that big of a difference over the life of the truck. I will also bet we will get far more trouble free miles from our v10's than our friends with the oil burners. One other thing, I recently got the bug for a new truck, I lost that urge real quick when I saw hub caps on a 63k king ranch. Anyway, I hope you all enjoy the rest of your weekend
So I've pulled 4 loads or crusher run in my dump trailer, 3 yards at a time, to this patio I'm doing for my brother. So during the 4th load I ask the owner how much does the stuff weigh per yard. His answer "About 3500 pounds". Yikes!! That puts me at my max payload for the dump trailer for a 14,000lb load. No hills but the truck did well. Never thought it was that much weight!!! Still loving the load handling of the dually. I never get that out of control feel like I got with the SRW truck. V10 baby!!

I got you beat. I did 15K of stone up a 15% grade are so.
It was definitely a slow ride, on purpose. No reason to be a fool with that load. People seem to make poor choices when I'm towing heavy trailers, such as pulling out at the last moment. 24,000lbs on your driver side door isn't going to feel nice. Luckily none of that happened. That's why I've never understood people bragging how fast they can get their heavy trailers going.
