Heard a rumor that an Ecoboost 5.0 might be coming for 2015 in the Superduty. Wink wink... nudge nudge.
I don't really want to wait that long plus I'm not sure a 5 liter will pull as good as a 6.2 liter. I did see a truck just like I want but it was in black and a diesel instead of white and it was one nice looking truck. The 2WD sets a lot lower and a 4X4 and I like low.
Well I think we have finally made a decision to go with a new truck but it won't be a V10 . After we get back from Mexico in March I will start pricing out a F350 SC DRW 2WD Lariat 6.2, I already know that it will have to be ordered so I will have to start early if I want it ready to pull by the end of August but we will be spending a month in Texas so I may look there before we order. Hate to see our trusty V10 go but it's time to upgrade to a newer truck.

If you come down to FLorida before, why don't we just swap axles. You will like the power of the 6.2, I just hate the transmission!

Didn't mean you should wait That said, a 5.0 with twin turbos will produce more torque than the 6.2 will, and if it's an Ecoboost like the rest of them, the torque curve won't be a curve, it'll be flat.
The 3.5L Ecoboost in my Taurus is incredible. Can't wait to see what a 5.0 will do in an SD.

I would agree that it may end up with more torque but with a lot more moving parts that can wear out especially the way I would use it. We don't just tow a few times a year we are doing it almost all year. When you are thousands of miles form home it's a lot different than being a few hundred, that's why we are going to replace our 12 year old truck before it gives us any trouble on the road. We know that if it does die on us on the road it would be impossible to find one like we want without ordering it.
Here you go rvpuller. Is this new enough? AutoTrader.com[FORD[F350[]][]]&doorCodes=4&modelCode1=F350&driveCode=4WD|AWD&sho wcaseOwnerId=71391&startYear=2008&makeCode1=FORD&e ngineCodes=10CLDR&extColorsSimple=GREEN&searchRadi us=0&listingId=324202861&listingIndex=5&Log=0
Sorry, link didn't work. Anyway it was a '09 CC V10 dually Lariat, in deep forest green with 27,000 miles on it. I am looking at it myself. Might get rid of my present POS and buy this one.

Yes it would be new enough but we are leaving the desert north of Quartzsite today and start heading to Mexico for a month. I'm going to start looking when we get back into the states, we plan on spending a month in the Texas hill country so I will be looking for one when we get t that area.
Getting ready to do a little work to my 99 f250 SD. I got the banks power pack and Mike hooked me up with the livewire ts. will be getting these mod's done in the next few weeks can't wait to see the outcome. I would like to say thanks to everyone for all the info on these forums.
I would wait a bit to see what Ford does with the SD gas ... rumors are showing 5.0 eb...
...
Mike I'm sure that a 5.0 eb would have a lot of power but there becomes a time when you need cubic inches for the long haul. Dropping form a 6.8 to a 6.2 isn't to bad but going all the way to 5.0 I'm not to sure about. I'm thinking going from a 6.8 2V 4.30 gears 4 speed transmission to a 6.2 with a 6 speed and 4.30 gears I will gain power at the ground where it counts.
My brother finally had a chance to drive my truck last Saturday and confirm what I was feeling. So yesterday he pulled the truck in the shop and tightened the steering box. Brand new Red Head steering box had to be turned half a turn, geeeeez. Anyway it helped a lot but still could use a little more maybe another 1/4 turn tighter. Also noticed the drag link had a little play, hmmmm, all 3 pieces were replaced in October, maybe I will just try to tighten it and see what happens.
