Yea I'm not sure I'd want to subject my truck to that kind of torture! I've wanted to come to the meets but never have the time. The videos ate great real world stuff.
That old saying comes to mind: Just because we can doesn't mean we should. LOL
LOL! Yeah I did it once to prove that even my old truck could do the job. But the second time around I didn't want to put a hurting on the 4R100. If I had 4.56s and a good rebuilt tranny I would have done it again. The V10 would have handled it fine.

I'll be having another meet next year. If you can make it, it's well worth it to learn about the other engines, years first hand and see them in action. Plus the people are great!

I'm really hoping to make it next year. Looked like a lot of fun!
Well I finished my front end upgrade with a all chrome grill with white wire mesh screen and 04 headlights/marker lights. How do you think it looks
Denny
That looks fantastic Denny. To bad you can't do a before and after picture. Now you need to do the '08+ mirrors. You won't believe how much more landscape they give you.
RVPULLER, could you give some more details on the white wire mesh screen? Like where you got it and how you installed it? I like that idea, my radiator is getting all messed up from rocks and bugs hitting it and I fear I will have to replace it soon. I think with this it will protect the radiator better.

I didn't take a before because it was just a standard grill and lights that all the 2000 truck had that was getting a little tired after 121K miles.
I'm a brand newbie with a 2004 f250 ext cab 5.4 L. Been searching posts and threads for info on my 4r100 tranny hunting in and out of lock-up while cruising. spending a lot of time looking without finding anything. I don't know find anything.

I really like the looks of your mods.
Thanks.
I used the aluminum mesh that was on my old grill, if was from our old C band satellite antenna that I painted white. I drilled small hole in the grill and use strains of #10 wire to hold it in place. I also have a piece painted black on the bottom radiator opening to stop bugs and rocks or any other piece of junk on the road from getting into the cooler. I did it originally to cover up the honeycomb area that a bird broke out.

Is it hunting in and out of OD or is the converter unlocking and locking back up. If you have 3.73 gears it may spend a lot of time downshifting out of OD if you go up any kind of incline. When the 4R100 downshifts out of OD it will unlock the converter and if you are under load you can feel the converter lock back up shortly after depending on the load and transmission temperature, if it's under a heavy load it may not lock back up until you pick up speed. It also does the same thing when it shifts into OD with an kind of load.
