Now I understand the "running out of good weather" statement. Time to update your profile.... or just create a sig.

You working up in the fields in ND?

Hopefully they don't run out of product up there. I had thought about taking a sabbatical this summer and pulling my travel trailer up there for a change of pace, but decided to just stay put. Maybe just as well.

According to the speculative research they did they don't plan on running out any time soon but just that little drop on the barrel had people getting laid off and leasing to slow down. In my opinion the writing is starting to show up on the wall. Especially with the EPAs threat
towards fracking. Idk I'm kinda traumatized after the housing market crash.

Yup. It hurt a lot of friends and family. Hope we can see some real "Change" next year. Someone that can pull the reigns in on the EPA and let Capitalism prosper.

Believe me I love destroying the environment in the name of horsepower as much as the next guy but folk up here according to those that work in the industry are pretty much going to ruin this place. Like dumping toxic waste products into the Missouri river and calling it haz mat processing. It's really pretty country up here, it has grown on me a lot, it would be a shame to so it entirely ruined.

Common Sense is not so common. It is a shame that some people can't do what is right even if it does cost a penny or two.

I got banned over on psn because of discussing the industry. People got self righteous and defended their brethren. The amount of money thrown around can easily justify doing things "right". Furthermore rape, assault and drug related incidents are sky high due to this boom. It's bringing all the trash from the 50 states to one place

Sounds like a good place not to be. Guess I will stay down south.

After spending much of my career in the government I can attest to the "throwing around money" mentality. Use it or loose it mentality is just plain sad and it drives me nuts every year. I guess it is just the nature of the beast even in the oil industry.

As a disclaimer let me state that like any industry there's always undesirables. Some but NOT ALL people that work in NDs oil fields are meth'ed out social undesirables. Most folk work the patch to provide for their families just like anybody else but in MY experience and those of others there's a growing number of questionable individuals in the areas around the oil patch.

Kind of like house construction industry. Most, but not all of course, are in the industry because the expectations of them is low. Professionalism is not a prerequisite.

I spent a couple of weeks out in the Taft, CA area and got to see some of the newer "remote" controlled wells. That is cool stuff. I would love to get in to the high tech side of the oil industry.

Haha you don't get to be foreman of several million dollar ocean front properties because the expectations are low. But I hear ya. I only said that because I would hate to start a flame fest and lose the privilege of being here. I like this place and I can talk to super duty v10 owners lol

Trd if you're a single man full of bravado I'd actually would suggest you give it a shot up here. You'd make a killing if you have a higher level of experience.

Trash has always been drawn to the booming areas to prey on the working. We just need some of the old laws of yesteryear to even that playing field and be gone with the scum.
