I tried to build a F450 cab and chassis with a V10 but it wouldn't let me build one with a Lariat package, oh well.
At this time the XLT is the highest trim package, last year the highest package was a XL so maybe when I'm ready they will offer the Lariat with the 6 speed . A tow body for the back will also be kind of expensive but to have a new V10 it would be worth it.
I can't wait for school and little league baseball to be over. We're loading up and heading for the dunes for the first time in two years! I'm anxious to load of the trailer and hear the V10 sing pulling up the Oregon coast!
I got the camper inspected last week, now I have to de-winterize it, and get it ready to trade in on something a little bigger. I am looking at a used 2009 Jayco 32BHDS, I really want the Eagle version of the same layout but they are hard to find used. Our first camping trip of the year is always on Memorial Day weekend, a nice 4 day mini vacation, maybe this year we will make it a 5 day mini vacation.
Stating to do a little landscape work pulling my 14k dump trailer but need more work (luckily it's a second income). Truck is doing well but man it is a mess inside and out and needs a cleaning bad. Tough to do with a 3 yr old and a newborn. Need to put my Titan hitch on and change the oil. And see if the air bags from my 06 will fit the 08 frame. Eats gas but the beater Car helps with that.
Have been very busy with work for a while so didn't get to do much work on the truck inside and out. Heading up north of the border for some R&R in few weeks. Just have to change the coolant, do a work on the CB setup and clean the truck up yet. I managed to squeeze a power steering fluid change, oil change, fuel filter change and a brake fluid change in the other weekend so that helps. Time has kind of been going by pretty fast and new seem to get everything I want done.
The air bags will fit, at least my Air Lift system did. If I remember, I had to drill a couple of holes in the frame but that was it. Oh and I took off my overload springs on the '08, they were just making too much noise. It's funny that my '06 was a dually and the '08 is a SRW but the dually needed more air in the bags. I would put 25-30 psi of air in the dually but in the SRW I only use 10-20 psi., and most times I don't need that much but the manufacturer says to run keep 10psi to prevent damage to the bags.
My problem is that I couldn't get the brackets off the 06 so I'd need to order them. They were no drill which was nice. I don't know if my dually squats worse but the hitch is definitely lower than the SRW truck. With the same hitch, draw bar, and ball, my trailer needed the adjustable tongue lowered to the lowest point and it's not low enough. I'll probably need to turn the draw bar over. But the truck feels so much more stable with the DRW setup.
Speaking of "shooting the breeze"...sometimes I'd like to "shoot the breeze"; literally. Nothing is more aggravating to me than excessive wind.
Sometimes when the trade winds get crazy here I can't even drain the oil out of my trucks without it being blown all over the driveway.
I can't go to the beach or I'll get sandblasted. Sand and dirt gets in my eyes even with sunglasses. Stuff gets blown all over the places, it makes it hard to even come out of the darn store without stuff blowing out of my bags!
To get out of it I have to find a happy place in the jungle. Then there's the mosquitoes...

The trailer that I use I have to do the same with the hitch, in this image that's a 6'' reversed and used with a pinto.

Monsta...there you are on the Island of Maui and complaining about a little wind and sand, what maybe sticking to your sun screen and getting in your cold sodas on the beach?

Yea I'll definitely need to do that. I also know that the previous owner of this truck had some upgraded springs installed in the front as there is an aftermarket modification label mentioning upgraded springs, I think the truck had a plow on it. This makes the front end sit high. Unloaded the look is fantastic. Loaded not so much as the level stance turns into front end up.
