Im willing to bet ill be getting a phone call from my father in the morning complaining about paying high diesel price since he decided to trade the V10 in on a DMax all ill hear is should have kept the 10 cylinder power
So we were under a lake effect snow warning yesterday and today for 1-2 feet of possible accumulation. So of course I took the truck to work because I'm not getting stuck if I don't have to. I havent driven the truck since about November so of course I was getting into that skinny pedal quite a bit. Man I can wait until spring. Now the truck is coated in a nice thick white chalk from the road salt.
Luckily it's fluid filmed pretty well. Wont be able to wash for a few weeks as the temps are in the single digits. But as long as there is no water the crusty salt really wont do too much.
Today was my first day of not being on a roof in 3 weeks. I can't even stand straight. I did however manage to get the replacement steering box and alignment done last week. Still have problems wandering all over the place. Stumped as to what to do next. Anybody near Montgomery County PA that take my truck for a drive and tell me what you think?
Ball joints, drag link, track bar, steering box, tires all brand new and working like they should. Im thinking unit bearings but when they did the ball joints, they told me everything in the axle was in great shape. I think somebody else should drive it to make sure I am not imagining things.
I guess I am new to this forum and to Ford trucks in general. But so far I have learned a ton. And thanks again for all the help and info. While I haven't bought a Super Duty yet, when I do it will have a V10. I did just buy my wife a 2011 Mercury Milan though. She commutes every day to work and we really needed the gas mileage. Getting above 30 mpg seemed great to me!!!!!!!!!
Well I think we have finally made a decision to go with a new truck but it won't be a V10 . After we get back from Mexico in March I will start pricing out a F350 SC DRW 2WD Lariat 6.2, I already know that it will have to be ordered so I will have to start early if I want it ready to pull by the end of August but we will be spending a month in Texas so I may look there before we order. Hate to see our trusty V10 go but it's time to upgrade to a newer truck.
