Not yet but I have seen many 4bt swaps. Also I'm so excited to see ur 67 done I'm really wanting a 1961 f250 with a dt360 and an fso that's what I'm wanting but in the mean time I think I'll get a jeep daily and diesel it maybe a cherokee or a Cj
What 4th year is good for a turbo good acceleration and avid off roading or are you not a 4bt expert and also what's a 4bt in the US run average seems like 360 are average 1100
What do you mean by 4th year? Unless you mean 4BT. Those, are like a DT360, newer is better. Stay away from the industrial ones, they usually have a constant speed governor, and dont work well on the road. Typically, they run $1500 here, and P-pumped ones are $2500 & up. I actually had a 4BT for my 67, but knew I wouldnt be happy with less hp than the 300 has.
Well I was just looking at the 4bt let's get back to basics for just a min my gf dad hosts a 40 person jeep club (40 jeeps) and I had a TJ I ruined. I need daily speed off road and her dad as I said hosts the jeeps at his 1000 acre farm for off roading so
Need speed for my highway jaunts off road and stick... And be able to park my truck everywhere and I'm also 6 foot 5 and I need good gas milage so is a full-size 3 quarter ton even be a good idea ?
Hard to argue with 30mpg, vs 18-20. Why not a twin turbo 4BT in a jeep TJ or YJ. Run highway gears, and a transfer case that has sooper low gears, or a doubler.
I had a TJ they are hard to sit in what other options do I have and what would a twin turbo cj/yj make where there ever a single cab short box 1960 ? Ford and yj and cj run leafs easier and cheaper to lift but yj ugly as he'll and again what year 4bt I need a year bro
**** that sounded akward I mean what's the hp a twin turbo 4bt make and I'm 6 foot 5 my TJ was fun but hard to drive I like round lights and cj had a flat dash I have a feeling it would have more leg room I saw a sweet short box ranger single cab 4bt lifted sweet but ranger is not a truck and real trucks and off roaders have glow plugs lol that might have sounded better
Sorry, missed the other posts, I used my fone.
This is a doubler: ORD Doubler 4:1 Dual Transfer Case, NP205-NP203 - Fullsize 4x4 Parts
Yep, only wanna be diesels have to use glow plugs to start. The DT360? no starting aid, and does just fin to about -30*F. The 4BT/6BT? a grid heater in the intake manifold. I dont think you would have much different leg room in either a Jeep, or a 60-ish F250. The 60 would probably have a tad more though.
A definite 4BT year? Hmmm, a 95, but dont shy away from any older. Why not a 70s Scout 2 with a 4BT?

Is there as many up grades for a scout as there is for a jeep and what transmission would I use ? Also like I said I want great fuel, speed, highway milage, all on about 35 in an off roader that will tow my And my wife's motorcycle
The thing with Scouts, is that most of it is kustom building. Jeeps have mostly bolt on mods. There's still lots of stuff out there, but nothing will EVER come close to the aftermarket that Jeeps have. The easiest trans to swap in would be a NV4500 from a Dodge or GM, depending on which side the transfer case needs to drop. A buddy of mine is doing a 4BT with a Dodge NV4500 into his FJ40. Everything that fits the front or rear of a 6BT will fit a 4BT.
