That's a tough call. I say, which ever truck has a better interior. You can get more use of an extended cab vs reg cab. I would sure like to have a crew cab version of my truck. On the other hand, reg cab saves weight.
I still say the 360 is a better choice.
Ok wo finally we are determined. It's a dt360 with a RTO610 with a IH theme in a 90 ford now there are 2 things crew cabs are ****ing expensive and hard to find ext cabs are easy and cheap and interior makes no diff cause I'm redoing it last but still redoing it.... So now we talk we have rear axel engine and transmission what else will I need and we have ext cab long box as the choice in my opinion we also have a t case... So let's talk more about mods compression daily driving and all that good jazz, and from axels and differentials oh btw good morning Dale
Top of the morning to you, young lad.
Doing mods isnt really necessary to get it in & running. But, once it is, and all the kinks are worked out, it'll be that much better. Check the gears in the 90, you'll need 3.08 or 3.55's in it. A simple factory limited has great road manners.
Other mods? like what pump, and why? How far you can get with the OEM pump? Dont worry about lowering compression at 600hp. Already pretty settled on the 7X12 or 14 injectors. What else? Cam? Roller rockers? Aluminum tall valve cover?
Well the big thing first is getting a gasser stick shift ext cab long bed, than getting the engine and tranny and front axel and t case. As parts than stripping it and swapping it all in in about a month worth than rip the gasser tranny and engine sell it than u know drop the dt and the RTO and than the 205 divorced all in her and getting her running than as a stock daily I want to collect mods and than blast her hp and build a Huge daily
To be honest money and an engine hoist and I have never built a project before that's why I'm going so slow!!! Lol I'm saving now 1000 for an engine and what's a good price for a RTO610
Fail!!!!! Lol but that did make me laugh. Ok so let's talk a lil more mods... Lets assume I have te dt 360 in the frame rails with a RTO610 and a divorced 205 all in the 90 ext cab 250 what next ? Remember the goAl is 600 hp 2000 lbs roughly AT THE FOUR WHEELS
After it gets in, you gotta fab up throttle linkage, wire it up, find some radiator hoses, run fuel lines(replace rubber with rubber made for diesel), build the floorboard hump for the shifter, the list of small things goes on & on.
