Well it's 12:16 am here so expect a talk early tomorrow morning thanks Dale goodnight bro and by the way if your a dad tell if wife and ur mom happy mothers day bro
One send me your sites link lol 2 I was on hypermax website and barely found anything IH based. And it was a 2007 - 2010 466 parts... If I'm on pull off.com what year 89 + doesn't really help which year exactly should I Get!!! Lol also why will the clutch be "the catch" ?
And the 6 speed is out that's for sure
Im going to get a ten speed like we discussed but if I'm going big power maybe I'll need a dual disk street clutch, south bend ? Also the 10 speed will have better fuel economy right xause more gears means lower rpms right ?
And with.a dt466 and a 10 speed what pulling class can I compete in incase you know lol
Low buck diesel power | turn up your fuel rate for free, or almost
It's the one just below my name.
It must be 3 hrs difference. Hypermax doesnt list their hotrod parts on their site, you have to call them. Be prepared for sticker shock.
If you're looking for specific years, go for a 92, it had all the upgrades. If you want to get a little newer, go for a 95. The 95 is the newer generation that comes with a good pump, but it's also a little taller than the 92 & older ones. Even ebay has decent deals sometimes. Yes, try to find a way to get a dual disc in there. You may have to send what the trans comes with, into South Bend for a kustom clutch, but it'll hold it.
Yes, you can get a tad better mpg by keeping the rpm as low as possible as you drive.
There's been a few guys try to run a class with an engine swap, but the rule makers caught on. If anything, it'll be exhibition. There may be a way into a class though, you have to do some homework.
U said that the 466 makes 2.4x the torque so if I made a 2000 hp engine I'd have almost 5k torque and how would I keep all that in a pickup and how would I even get 2000 hp ?
That 2.4X is a rough figure, it depends on the setup. That kind of power is generally only useable in sled pulling. Getting 2000hp takes a whole lot of kash, like 30+ grand.
I think maybe I have asked too many questions or confused u or myself also. I don't wAnt nitro or meth or any of that stuffing ever and I don't want a 1000+ engine that will run 1000+ for 15 seconds and crap out realistically I way a 1960 350 that has 466, with 1000 hp or close as he'll to it that will alway run that hp.... !!! And will get good ish fuel economy on skinny 33s or 35s
Not asking too many Q's, keep in mind it's Mom's day.
Trying to fit all that under the hood of a classic with an already small area, it's gonna be tough. For 1000hp, you're looking at 2 Holsets, an HX55 and an HX80. That's gonna take up a whole lotta room. It's a lot of planning to get something like this to all work out. Not like there's a specific recipe to get it perfect the first time. It can make the 1000hp, and hold it there for a few minutes, but how long is it going to be able to use that? On the street, you could end up using that kind of power once for 3-5 seconds. In daily driving, you will only use about 400hp, and that's if you're really trying.
I'm confused what you mean, I'm in no rush for you to reply I know it's mothers day umm u mean on average it uses only 400hp and will lay 1000 plus if I slam the peddle ? Also the 10 speed do u have to flip a switch and than shift through the same 5 gears (essentially) or is it 10 gears straight shifting like a 5 or 6 speed.. ?
I'm saying, most of the time, 400hp will be more than plenty. Once in a great while, that 1000hp could come in to play. That's street driving.
Yes, the 10 speed is like two 5 speeds. Row 1 thru 5, then flip the lever, and go 1 thru 5 again.
Did you see the video of the DT360 swap doing a burnout? He's got roughly 400-450hp. Sure has a better sound than a 6BT. I cant even describe what a hot DT466 sounds like. My Ford even sounds like a Cummins eater. My videos dont do it justice.
I have not heard the videos yet just on my iPhone, don't want to use my data on my phone so I will use my computer as soon as I get home now onto the important stuff, if I'm going a little smaller cause I want a 95% daily and 5% comp truck. Should I do a dt360 and a 7 speed ? I'm not sure how I feel about a switch as I'm shifting already cause I want this as a daily and if I'm using a 360 can I still get 1000 horse out of her and what u mean 400hp daily ? I don't quite get the thought is that mainly driving I'm using 400 hp ? But I still have 1000 to play with or just building a 400 hp daily ?
I was just making the point that 400hp will serve most of your needs, except that 1-5% when you want to pull. I would suggest a 360, and possibly that 7 speed you're talking about, for practicality & budget sake. That's like having a 600hp gasser, which is still pretty potent. You can build up to that 1000hp point later. You're not using that much power in daily driving. Probably up to 150hp for a normal drive. The power in diesels isnt like a gasser.
Wellets do this cause u are 1,000,000% more experienced than me, I need to beat the fudge out of my friends Dakota and my other friends 315hp 400lbs trq mustang along with 35s and great gas milage... Preferably 1960 250 but they are hard to find... Is the 1960 250 body bigger than the 100 ? Cause I found several 100 for alas in Canada and I can't afford shipping to the stares so now let's focus on the 360 what year what mods what transfer case and do I even need 4x4 if I'm barely pulling ? Pulling would be exhibition not class pulling I looked at the requirements and they are way to strict for me I just want a lifted great milage hot rod truck to Daily
