Well the whole Rig is pretty rare & valuable. Are you going to move her a museum when ya get all done? I think ya said something like that way back when. But like your Buick it's nice to have them close so ya can drive them when they call to ya.
Keith,
The spotlights look great! I just never get tired of seeing pics of that beauty.
Since you remove the bell each time you put it back in the barn maybe you could get some snazzy chrome wing nuts to hold it down when its on the truck. That might make putting it on and taking it off easier. I'd bet you might be able to find something at McMaster-Carr or some place like that.
Rich, Yes I kinda want it close to home for a while. Gerald, the man who has helped restore the truck, is VP of the FT Lauderdale Fire Museum and he has an open bay right now where the truck will be rotated through.
I have to start looking for a new place to store the truck. The lady has put her house up for sale. Its at a high price so it may not sell quick. I am really going to miss paying a $100 a month for storage. Maybe the new owner will let me still keep it there. I might be able store it on a friends property.
Thanks Bobby, I already have some fancy chrome nuts on the truck. I have the bolts come up from underneath so I just drop it in place and carefully bolt her down.
The video shooting has been postponed for a few weeks which is fine with me because I have the flu and my Mom is still in the hospital. Her open heart surgery went great and she will be home on Saturday.
I really wanted the truck almost completely done for the shoot and now it looks like that will happen. I ordered some more canvas tarp material for the bins today so we can get that project done. My NOS fuel gauge came in the mail yesterday so once that's in I will never run out of gas and be stuck on the side of the road again
Thats great news about your mom!! The doc's sure get them up and moving fast now-a-days. Thats good but she will be mighty tender for awhile. You better stay away, it wouldn't do for her to catch your flu and come down with a terrible cough...ouch
I find it kind of funny when people are worried about boring others with their posts. Or even annoying are people who complain about inane posts or whatever else they find irritating. A real simple solution, don't open and read the posts, very simple.
Keep posting. You have a truck to be very proud of and I know all who have contributed to this thread want to see more. If you were boring us you wouldn't have 1299 posts in this thread.
OK thanks Guys!! I will keep the pics coming. I hope to have some of the bins next week.
Harrier Joe - the book is done! I am going to see how much interest the truck generates when it is shown on Yahoo. If there is a lot of interest then I might go ahead and get the 1000 copies printed.
Not by a long shot my good man! We love to see pics of your truck and to hear about your parades, etc. I think there's a big part of us that are riding along vicariously in every parade.
