Keith, are the Junior Fire Patrol members ready for the parade? It's great they are getting appreciation for the preservation of the truck and appreciation and interest in family history.
Yes, the junior Patrol members are ready. They will be wearing their Fire Patrol shirts just like the adults. Everyday they want a ride in the truck.
How great is it that they want to ride in that truck? My Dad always had old cars around and for my teenage years any way I was too cool to have interest. It all comes back around and I'm hopelessly addicted today. My Dad and I get to work together now. You guys will have alot of enjoyment playing with your truck!

Reason: tying issues!
LOL, That brought a smile to my face. I'm pretty jealous of the Junior Patrolmen.
It's probably a good thing I'm not there. I'd probably embarass myself by throwing a fit and whining that its my turn to wail on the siren and clang the bell.
Rich, thanks for asking. Here are the plans for the week. Tomorrow afternoon I will be out at the truck. I need to top off the fuel and transmission. My friend will set the points and timing so she will be running perfect. I still have some minor detailing to do.
My family and Ron DiRenzo, my grandfathers driver, will be in town on Friday so in the meanwhile I am trying to organize everything for the parade. I am borrowing two large tents from work. We will use them at my already secured spot at the park where we will have the truck on display and hang out after the parade. We will have pictures of the truck, candy and beads to give out to the kids. We all will be wearing our red Fire Patrol T-Shirts too.
I had this pen made out of original wood from the truck as a gift for Ron. I wanted his name burned into the wood but my friend put it on a sticker and varnished over it. Its ok I guess. I think he will be happy to get it.
Keith, every time I feel as if you can't top yourself, you do. If I understand right, the pen is for your Granfathers driver?,man that gives me the warm and fuzzies. I can only imagine how wonderful it is going to make Ron feel. you are a special kind of Man, and its been an absolute pleasure following your progect, and the history behind it. Have a great time in the parade.
Jim, yes Ron was my grandfathers driver. I spoke to him today and boy is he excited to get behind the wheel. I got my parade confirmation today. We are #18 in the procession out of 42 vehicles. Still counting down the days!!
My buddy set the dwell this afternoon. I could tell by how she was running that it was off. It was at 15 and now set at 30. The timing was good. We took the boys for a spin after and she ran great. When we first got out to the barn my son noticed oil on the ground. I had only put the tranny drain plug in hand tight and some leaked out. Everything has been tightened and topped off. Only a couple of days to go
Guys what a day! Everything went perfect! Its going to take some time to put into words what transpired today. All the hard work over the past 5 years paid off. I have tons of pics and video. Here is a little teaser!! More to come tomorrow. I'm beat and going to bed!!
