Ron's reaction when it was announced that he was driving is priceless. Man, I know we have all said it before, but this is just awesome!!!
I totally agree. You've put a lot of work into this beast but I don't think any of the work can match the feeling he got from getting behind the wheel again. Man, I love it. You did really good, you should be very proud of the truck and having one of the original crew drive it down the parage route.
I was sent these pic's the other day and thought they were pretty cool.
One of my co-workers suggested sending the truck story to Steve Hartman of CBS "On The Road" series. He does a lot of human interest stories. I sent it a few days ago. Maybe he will respond back. We'll see!!

WHAT!!??? You still have the the Patrol truck?
Chip Foose was suppose to have picked it up by now.
His "A" team was gonna totally revamp it into a custom car hauler camper thingie with a big block Chev, auto trans and all kinds of other stuff.
LOL...yea, big stupid steros (the back end full of speakers and amps), drop the thing to the ground, stupid diameter rims with low profile tires......you'll be cruising in style.....
neat perspective from your buddy's camera...very cool
My Mom has been in the hospital so the truck has been on the back burner. She will be needing open heart surgery soon. I am very worried but she has a great doctor and I am hopeful that she will be fine.
This Saturday there is a Police/Fire Expo at my local Fire Department so the truck will be on display alongside some other antique fire trucks from my club. I did pick up a spot light from eBay and have been looking for another one. I have the two that were on the truck when I first bought it but they are too long ( someone had moved them thru the front A-pillers instead of thru the doors as original) and need the shorter shafted one that will be attached to the doors.
I also ordered a 8' x 20' piece of green heavy duty canvas salvage cover that we will use to make it look like there is 44 salvage covers in the 4 rear bins. Patrol trucks carried 11 14'x18' salvage covers in each of their 4 bins. I don't want to buy 44 covers so we are going to fake it like the bins are completely full of covers.
