IN order to get my truck on the road this summer I decided to go with a running motor rather than building one from scratch. Here is another 460 running and driving. I'll keep my other two blocks and build them slowly. When i'm ready to do my motor again I'll finish all my body work and motor again.
No Ross I stopped for a while doing school. Im looking for someone to help me fab a seat mount now. Then im taking the cab off, doing all cab repairs (including the smoothed firewall, patch panels, cab corners, and possibly a big Window kit) while thats being done ill paint my frame. Build the brake system, build the fuel system and do the cab mounts. Hopefully by December it will be married with the drive train, wired, running, and 70% finished.
Selling the bike was hard but seeing this truck sit was worse.
Direct sheetmetal makes the firewall. I purchased it from a distributor by calling them directly but should have got it on Ebay so i could get the ebay bucks. I went through Midwest Early Ford.
Looks like DS has the firewall for your truck. Below is a link to help but I encourage you to shop around because i found a pretty good deal through Midwest.

I'm not going to lie I paid a pretty penny for my firewall but I felt that it was absolutely necessary to get that clean look under the hood. It hurt to spend the money though. My truck is a working man's truck and I've put a fair amount of funds in it to make it the best driver i could make. I take some breaks, save, and start again. Good luck and friend me. In looking at the picture of your patch panel on the cab corner it looks very similar to what I found when I recently started to do my rear cab corner patch panels. From your picture it looks like there is a significant amount of old "bondo" in between the indents in the back of the cab. I am curious if that was the case on your truck as well or if I am just seeing something in the picture that is not actually there. My curiosity is if that is typical of these trucks or a coincidence only. I am debating the best way to deal with the issue on my truck....remove all old bondo, etc. as explained in my other post.
