Build Progress (So Proud)

Ladies and Gentlemen it has been a long hard road but I finally got my truck in the shop to get my suspension installed. I almost sold it a few weeks ago to get another project but decided to finish what I started. I will keep the pics coming over the next few months. I'm sure I will need tons of help.

Already got my wheels and tires installed. going to try and stay with the 5x5 1/2 bolt setup even though there will be very few wheel combos for me.

This month Chassis pack from no limit. Decided to to do their wide ride IFS with 2 inch drop spindles, 4 bar rear, along with their front brake line kit, new motor mounts, new trans cross member, and new brake booster setup and all the accessories. I really like the quality ( better for the price HaHa ). End of this month I will install my EzWire Kit. Then the 426/c6 combo out of a 73 Mercury marquis. .

If there are any suggestions members have I would sure appreciate them. I'm trying to do it to be a high quality driver. No trailer queen for me.

Also for anyone just looking to see photos of my build I started a photobucket account where I religiously update the photos so feel free to check it out without having to skim the entire thread. http://s123.photobucket.com/albums/o...20Ford%20F100/

Beautiful truck! Good on you for roughing it out! I think we all have those stressed out "give me a break" days.

I know. I figured mine was already registered and insured plus my son loves it so I didn't want to get rid of it for someone else's project.

I need to find a steering wheel, some u joints, drive shaft and new cab mounts. Once all that is done I will need gauges, an exhaust, and some other small odds and ends.

The plan is to have it on the road driving in the next 2 months when the weather turns for the summer. If I can do that I will certainly be where I want to be this year.

yeah, when I got mine I had had to put in new cab mounts and floors. Just nothing beats driving them. Ive thought about selling a few times too, of coarse only to buy another project tho! haha
Good luck with it and keep us posted.
Excited to see it in the next couple months!

WAY IT SEATS

You will have a 460 RIGHT ? I have a 289 thats a big diff. there. Also you can see in my pics. my front is alittle higher than the back. It isn't broke in. It will drop some in time. Drop spindals won't let you get over a speed bump without bags. Others here on FTE will be able to give you more insight than i can on this matter. They talked me out of the drop spindals and glad they did. Guess the ???? is HOW LOW DO YOU WANT TO GO !!!!

I want to go real low but nothing to unrealistic. I dont go over speedbumps very often but there are some nasty dips and roads here in Albuquerque. I think I'm going to call today and keep the setup with regular spindals. I could always adjust the suspension lower later If i choose to I would just go bags. I do like that the regular spindals have 12 inch vented slotted discs standard and I already have them at the install shop. Yes I'm using a 429 out a 73 Mercury Marquis. Its eventually going to go 514 stroker but for now it runs well with only 55k so i want to get some regular pump gas driving excitement out of it. Once all the major money is done on the rest of the truck i will come back and rebuild it.
