This previous message had wrong email address. I have ordered another camera - maybe thats my problem.

THANKS for the reply - I ordered the same camera and received a OV7725 which operates on a 3 wire system as the video - and 12vdc - are tied together. I originally hooked it up using the camera connector just as you indicated and no picture. Maybe its a bad camera or did you have to do something different than hooking up the 4 wires. Red 12+ v Violet/Grey strip, 12- Black /white stripe. I used the yellow center pin wire for the video + and the video shield as the video - to the Brown w/violet strip. Is this the way you wired yours? Thanks - [email protected]

I have ordered the camera you referenced and would greatly appreciate the wiring drawing. My 2011 has a 5 pin connector. Did you locate a plug that will go into the Ford receptable or you tap into the wiring. I would greatly appreciate any help you can provide based on your experience. Dewey [email protected]

Iggy, did you have the dealer add the hitch-prep items afterwards or did you order it that way ?
Congrats on a very sharp looking truck.

Great to hear from You !

Bought a new ATV last year and have only put on 1600 miles, just to many irons in the fire hopefully after the snowbirds leave I'll have more time for me to ride and work on my project truck !

Iggy2 - You recommended that I send you PM (private message) with my email address but I can't find that option on this forum...

I have a 2011 Ford F-350 w/ backup camera in rearview mirror and I want to connect a camera to the back of my 5er so I can see my boat while driving down the road. You mentioned you have some wiring diagram or something that might be useful and a way to add a video switch as to which camera to use. I do want to keep original camera because I pull my boat by a switch to a camera behind my RV would be awesome.

Might suggest you go over to and poise the question on there for an X-Plan PIN. There are many members on that site that either work for Ford or have friends that do and can put you in touch with them for a PIN. I would go to the Tow Vehicles thread and ask if there is anybody that can help you out with one. It only takes a few minutes for a person to generate one for you.

    Good Luck
