Geezus Pete....
There's nothing fancy to remove the LPOP. They can get a Harmonic Balancer puller at NAPA, A-Zone or Harbor Freight for that matter. See if that's what they are looking for and buy one yoruself and give to them to use.
Wait, if a reputable shop doesn't even have a friggin pulley puller.... Oh nevermind.
Seriously, find out exactly what special tool they are waiting on. Nothing special is needed...
My wag is the remove/install tool for the wear ring.
My thought is they stated the lpop was good.
So what is the tool needed for? Sounds more to me
a load of parts will be thrown at the truck with a prayer.
Its just what i see from a keyboard.
Believe it or not. You would have better luck with the
local school bus and ambul repair shops. They would
lick it in a flash.

Bill
The LPOP was still functioning but not well.
And I agree that a local school bus or other repair shop would be better than a dealer but i couldnt' find one around here with a good reputation.
Don't have the money yet.
And these damn people who hired me to come work for them, went and found somebody else after i scheduled them and didn't tell me.
Glad I called.
FML.
I'm just very frustrated that they have had it for 5 days and it is no closer to being fixed. You would think that a Ford dealer would have the tools to fix a 7.3, but I guess not.
They aren't getting any business from me after this, that's for sure.
I have to call them to get an update on the work, they don't call me.
I kinda hope that the injector o-rings are bad and they put in these other parts and it doesn't work. I'll say, oh well you couldn't fix it, take it home, and put in some new o-rings and refuse to pay full price for their work that didn't fix my truck. GRRR! Why does my truck hate me right now?
You might try to take it to an International dealer I know we still have all the T444E tools, but seriously I could do it with a chisle, hammer, 2x4 and brass drifft if I really needed to, But Know that I know a little more of the story its sounding like it could be them injector o-rings.
I'll bet they are talking about that tool for removing the wear ring, I'm sorry, I haven't been following this thread, but that wear ring can be removed with a chisel, hammer and a couple screwdrivers/lady slipper. I know it is not the easiest way to do it, but it can be done. I know, i've done it. And it sounds like the place working on it needs to find a new line of work!! (one that does not involve customer service) HaHa!! I don't know though does that kind of job even exist??

I can't afford to keep towing it different places to have it worked on, and I don't think there's a International dealer nearby.
I hope it's as simple as the o-rings but they tested it and they said that the IPR is bad and the LPOP isn't working as well as it should.
I honestly don't see how they can go "bad" after i tore mine apart. Its a simple part submerged in oil. If anything happens to it, it just gets gunked up and the piston inside cannot operate, or the needle valve gets gummed up and doesn't work.
The truck wont start if the needle valve isn't even in there.
I know. I did it. haha
I wish I was closer, I'd come give you a hand budd.
