Here's Ol' Blue and that trailer weighs 6000 the tractor weighs 12,700 not sure what the truck wieghs I'm thinking 6800 maybe, well anywho that puts me around 24,000gcw, since this pic i put airbags in the back to level it off.
I....think.....I'm......in.......LOVE!!!!
That blue is just PERFECT!
I wish I didn't have to drive a red truck, I would prefer one just like yours
I keep mine red only so that people will spot me from a mile away, it's for business purposes.
I swear you must have super heavy duty leaf spring it Harley sag.
I wish I could find one like your with less rust. Mine 87 F250 it isn't look like that and it alot rusty.
Do you have issues with wood rot on rear tires where it spray water and debris from road? Plus swell and shrink during sun and rain? On mine old plow truck it would swell so bad it bumpy then shrink so much there gap between border.

Nice truck and tractor. Not to be ______ You pretty sure that tractor weight over 12K? We have smaller one Ford 601 it only weight 3500 lb.
Yep it gets wieghed at every pull the NTPA scale always spits out between 12,500 and 12,800 depending on how much fuel is in the tank and how much food is in the driver. It wieghed a lot more before i took the biga@# weights off the inside of each rear wheel.
Nope, standard F350 cab and chassis suspension. Something worth noting is that my truck only weighs 5,700 pounds empty. So another 2k pounds worth of scrap metal or any kind of load is about equal to most other guys with an empty dump truck, steel flatbed, or stake side truck.
The wood is very light-weight and durable. Trust me, I'm not one to take it easy on the truck. There are many gouges about 3/4" deep.
There is no rot with the wood bed, it's not treated either. Just standard lumber. It will take many years before any rot forms on this truck, it's used daily and doesn't get a chance to rest more than 8 hours over night.
Those pictures with the scrap metal make the truck seem like it's sagging...but that's only because some idiot (me ) put the scarap yard tires on (lots of screws, metal shavings, nails, etc. on the ground in the scrap yard). I have a pair of 245/75R16's and a pair of 225/75R16's. The 245's are supposed to go on the rear, but ding dong put them on the front...which drops the rear down in looks. All load range E's, so no worries there.
Here's my bed thread: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/9...-write-up.html
I left 9/16" gaps between the deck boards to compensate for shrinking/swelling and so loose debris can fall thru.
Here's the 65 with just a small load of hay. They're usually piled higher and wider.
In my experience, most people under-estimate the strength of wood.
thats a pretty clean 9600 you got there 84. my dad used to have a 8000 that we pulled, just local stuff, put an M&W turbo on it and turned the pump up, she was a beast. it was an open station though, you would be plowin with that tractor at night and you could see the manifold and stack get red, and about a 8 inch flame burnin out of it.
cant believe i have posted on this yet. only picture with biggest load was when i sold my 78 chevy step side and the axles from another sitting on a 4klb trailer o and a 2003 polaris predator in the bed for traction
I dont have a pic of this load hooked to my old IDI I do sometimes pull it with it tho. Just depends on what kind of mood I'm in at the time. If I'm in a hurry and dont mind shifting gears I use the stroke, If I'm being lazy and not in a hurry I use the IDI with auto. LOL. That old John Deere backhoe is about 15k pounds, trailer is 5 or 6k, not sure. Makes the trucks earn their money tho. LOL.
