This is my rig loaded up with 5 logs, the tranny dumped all the fluid on this pull but this was before the turbo. How much do you guys think it weighs?? 5 logs: 3 oak, 12 ft long 18" to 12" and 2 pine 20 ft, 15" to 12". The flat is 16 ft. and over built weighing 2,500. I was thinking the rig was about ranging from 8-10K (minus truck obviously). What do ya'll think??

Having never owned an E4OD I wont rag on it, but have been disappointed numerous times by the supposedly superior C6. The ZF5 has been and continues to be everything I need in a transmission.
i never had my truck loaded down like any of these but i have sure pulled a helll of a lot of things. i was called on night to go get 2 90 model chevys out of the mud, one swb wit 33s and the other extra cab long bed 35s both framed out and had 350s. cops laughted at me when i pulled up and 25 mins later came across the feild with both hooked to my truck draging them and throwing 8 foot rooster tails need less to say none of my buds will drop chains on any of my fords there just to strong

Thanks for the link, I always wished there was something like that. I still haven't gotten to tow with the turbo, driving me nuts; and without the turbo, I don't think I ever got into overdrive. I'm gonna have to take a pic of the hills around here and show ya'll cause they ain't no 10% grade or lower, I'm thinking of two that are at least over 20% but I'll post some pics one of these days.
That makes me pretty happy about the E4OD's with 4:10's. Makes me feel better about towing a lot with it now They just need a powerful engine ahead of them and they do just fine. My E4OD dumped the fluids 3 times before it finally blew, the fluid was like boiling and bubbling and foaming all over on the ground-not a pretty site especially in front of a bunch of chevy guys.
what a bummer.
something that would never of happened with an aftermarket trans cooler and temp gauge.
did you make sure the radiators cooler was free flowing? and that the pump in the trans was working,by just unhooking the line and starting the truck, you could see it pumping into a bucket real quick.
I don't know if it was working or not, I never checked. just took it to the shop and they put a new E4OD in - was a while ago looking back, I put just about 16K on the truck since the new tranny. And thats why I have a tranny temp gauge now. Now looking back, I would have done it myself or got a used tranny and had a shop put that in, oh well, you live and learn.
Is the CGWR weight with the c6 more than the ed04, i was thinking i could
be at 20,000 CGWR instead of 17,000 for some reason with the c6 auto and 4:10 gears ?
Partially loaded, still pulling logs from the site.
Arrived back at site, and some shameless product placement, of my recovery rope which I used to pull all the logs. (Not my biggest load, but it sagged a bit)
Not the same load, but a usual day.
Heh, it's a 52cc knock off stihl, with a 18" bar.
Beastly motor, but the body is total ****, already had to replace chain, trigger, and cord (three times)...
Boss is cheap, lol
It kinda looked like a 660 from the back I guess (at least on my phone it did)? Those old saw motors will run for quite awhile, I have a stihl ms280 18in bar and a husky 365 24inch bar
