You don't need Hydroboost, you need trailer brakes.
The most I tow is a 6,000 lb Kubota on a 2500 lb flat in the hills of upstate NY. My IDI(7.3) has some trouble towing up the steep hills. I blew my 4 spd. auto towing 5 logs up a steep grade one time, the current trans. seems to be doing fine.
BTW: any one know of any air intake assemblies and turbochargers for 7.3 IDI's??

ive got trailer brakes. they work well too. you cant rely on them 100% though. especially going down a 6% grade, thats why i will only own a stick shift. downshifting keeps me at a comfortable 55mph at a lower rpm. to keep an automatic at 55 your screamin against the redline.
You have to remember, the last IDI rolled off the factory floor 16.5 years ago in the first part of 1994.
The number of IDI turbo kits being sold was probably a very small number.
So those kits sitting on the shelves were costing them money and space with a very small return on the investment.
You might want to call Banks if your interested. I've read that they are still selling kits and may be producing more. Can't blame them, they are the best kit you can get.
