So Willie, what exactly are you driving? Must be a 6 leaker cause you aren't proud enough of it(maybe it's a Chevy!!) to list it on your sig.
I change my sig all the time. That's no secret. I have an 04 2wd Excursion with a 6.0l. I live in Vegas and have towed my scale verified +11K# toy hauler over 80K miles back and forth across these "monster" hills. I average between 10 and 11 with the trailer. I assure you my right foot is heavier than yours.
I just got back from southern AZ yesterday. Didn't have much of a load. Just a small trailer, and new quad for my daughter. I decided to drive to Mesa to pick it up because fuel doesn't cost me that much(19+ mpg on this trip), and they had the bike my daughter wanted in red, instead of green like the local shop had. The performance and economy of a PSD gives you the freedom to make decisions like that (I'm a little eccentric also, but that has nothing to do with it).
I doubt it. I only 3k dollars on mods so far. You would have to spend 3 times as much to make that power and be reliable. So as far as performance goes diesel wins hand downs.
You forget that you spent $8,000 more just to get the 6.4.
Your $11,000 over a V10 right now.
For half that I could make the same power and have cash left over.

Whats everybodys deal today? We can all disagree and still get along.
I swear I don't think I have ever seen such a bunch of whiners as you diesel heads. You all must be tired of reading your diesel threads with all of your problems and getting stranded in the middle of nowhere on a Sunday afternoon. First someone challanges my truck weight and then when I explain the probable reason for the weight, you poo-poo that. All bitch and no substance, typical diesel head.
Your post is referring to me, right? Just for the record, I don't own a diesel, I own a V10. I actually like the V10 over the diesel, just like you. But unlike you I do not make outrageous claims, nor do I claim I'm superior to someone because of my choice of truck engine.

Actually I haven't spent a dime on my truck or mods. My business paid for everything. So really you would be down in money. And would that v-10 be street legal and get 20 mpg and be realible? I highly think not.

Didn't you imply you are more comfortable in Mustang, than in Mercedes?
No, my trip computer calculated it. I know it's not as accurate but I also did over 650 miles on one tank before I refilled just to careful. Even I was surprised. Bare in mind this was 95% highway, mostly flat, one passenger with a dufflebag, no cargo. Used hyper-miler coasting to stop and down ramps/hills when able.
The MM act is not an automatic catch all for every aftermarket part. If the aftermarket part caused the failure it will not be covered as I understand it. Bottom line is if you want to play you better be prepared to pay.
Dont get me wrong I see nothing wrong with v10's other than their mpg's...
here's a question for ya pappy....
IF that v10 of yours is such a monster of a powerhouse that can smoke diesels climbing the mountians then why dont I see them at tractor pulls? gee I wish I had a v10 I would show those 2.6 class guys which way is up.....maybe you need to....it might humble you that a stock 6.0L might go another 20-30 feet than you.

Good question, but when was the last time you saw a stock diesel at one of those pulls? I've been to a few in Ohio and every truck that pulled was hopped to the max. Plus, if I did do a pull with my V-10, all of the diesels would not be allowed to spool up before dropping the hammer. That would be interesting.
Last year when I pulled 273 ft......and there were 6 other trucks bone stock.... one even had dealer plates on it promoting the new 6.7....it was pretty impressive. what the hell do you mean we cant spool up?!?!?! that is quite possibly the dumbest thing I have ever heard. fine eye for an eye un-clip two injector plugs you cant run 10 cyl's...sounds just as stupid doesnt it...soooooo you are saying that we have to handicap the sissy diesels to make it fair for your monster v10?
I'd say put your money where your mouth is and go compete...its summer I'm sure there will be one around you sometime soon...see what that v10 is really made of....
17,000 + lbs of trailer, 10,000 + lbs of truck and passengers, from Ohio to Florida, averaged 8.5 mpgs hand calculated doing approx. 65 mph. The V10 doesn't stand a snowballs chance of coming close. I had one, and still have one, and it's no contest. Oh, got a "6 leaker" as well and on top of generally having to wait for me at the top of a hill when towing an 8,500 lb camper with my V10, it followed me around a good chunk of the eastern US last year, all while towing a pretty stout 5th wheel and without "puking its guts out".
