I feel the same way when I read some of these guys getting 16's with their V10. If I pray real hard, catch a tailwind and run my tires at 140 psi I couldn't get that kinda mileage. But then I discovered that you need to figure internet claims kinda like dog years. If someone claims there truck gets 20 mpg (or whatever) you subtract a certain percentage, the younger the poster, the higher the percentage. Then you factor in what they owe on it and subtract another percentage. The more they owe, the higher the fudge factor because nobody wants to actually admit their truck isn't worth what they owe AND gets bad mileage, right? Then go back and count the amount of ridiculous arguments they started sticking up for their truck, the more outrageous the claims, the higher the correction factor. I suppose we could make up a chart for this, but I'm too tired from working every minute I can to pay for gas!
I have hit 16, but the conditions where perfect and it only happend on that one trip.
No matter what I do I can not do it again.
The highest claim I have seen by a V10 guy was 23 mpgs, which of course I don't buy for a second.

Your truck is older. The newer trucks weigh more than ours do along with more power and a much better transmission.
Then why did you doubt me about how much my truck weighs? Maybe some people don't lie about their trucks. There is no point to lie.
I never said you were lying about how heavy your truck is.

Just be careful when launching a boat. Back up too far and it just floats away. But a New England Helium Edition goes for about $55k used, so at least I would get a great insurance settlement after recovery. (And putting a new V10 in it.)
My 2 South Texas Outfitter's bumpers probably add around 550-600, and my tool box is full of crap that I have carried and added to for 20 years, probably another 300 lbs. And then there's my golf clubs and all my exta golf ***** that I expect to use. BTW, I weighed it last year at our state of Idaho scales in Horseshoe Bend and she doesn't lie.
Pap
Nothing like adding stuff to make your version sound better. Tool box? Golf clubs? 600 lb bumpers? Really? Hell, my truck weighed in at 10,500 last weekend with a load of firewood in the bed, but I don't go around telling people my truck weighs 10,500! I don't doubt the scales being honest, but you...well your posts speak for themselves.

Look it up, the trucks weigh roughly the same. Horsepower doesn't weigh anything and if the 5 speed auto weighs 30 lbs more, I'd be surprised. Also, my truck is a crew cab which common sense would dictate that the longer frame and cab would offset any engine and trans differences and then some.
