Hey Pappy...

if you go in the bathroom and shut off the light, look into the mirror and say "6-Leaker, 6-Leaker, 6-Leaker" Three times... the headgaskets in your V10 will blow up.

Just sayin.

Don't try this at home kids!

Hey sand_man there's more to resale value than selling. Deffirent trucks w/ diffirent pkgs depreciate at greater rates. From a driver/operator point of interest you don't want to insure a vehicle that you have to carry GAP just to break even. A SD w/ psd depreciates very slowly.
Some of us put 30k+ miles on our truck a year. That increases the probabilty of a wreck.
I don't think resell value has any bearing on which truck is better. I think it should be considered though when buying a truck. Especialy if the amount of finance is close to amount of value.

I can tell you right now the 6.0L will probably have more shop time than your V10, BUT, If I remedy the issues that plauge the stock trucks, It will run 500k easily without a rebuild.

You really pick on diesel guys don't you.....

Somebody ought to take a 2008 6.4L, do the mods you have done to your truck, and then race you. You would get beat so bad, it wouldn't be funny.......

I don't poke fun at gasser guys, if they are happy with it, FINE. You don't have to go around trying to convince us that we are driving headgasket blowing, underpowered boat anchors that can't go a week without having the cab pulled.

I bought my PS at 6 years of age and almost 200k for 8 grands. Now, 5 years/70k miles later. comparing to listings it should sell for about 10 grands, even KBB gives it only 5
BTW checked NADA value and it gives it about 8 grands value. The diesel option at 270k adds. $3600 when I heard it was $4500 on new truck.

Yeah if they go out. And plus when I have the hook up at the ford place I won't pay half that much if they do have to change them out. But thanks for your concern sucker.

Pulling the cab is not necessary in most cases, but is just as fast for a dealer tech when they have a lift at their disposal.

Trust me there is no way he is getting to me and make me think less of my truck. I think he is pissed cause he knows he can't get the power and mpg out of his truck like I do. I'm making close to 600 rwhp and over 1200 rwtq plus I'm getting 20 mpg on the highway. Plus here soon I'll be doing a full EGR delete and head studs and my engine will pretty much be bullet proof. I hope he enjoys his low teens mpg and 200 rwhp even with those mods. But yeah I'm the sucker. LMAO

I love how I can go over 600 miles per tank. When I had a f-250 5.4 I was lucky to get 300 miles per tank. I'm sure the V-10 gets that maybe a little worst.

Nice!

It is amazing what it can do without all that braindead emissions **** on it

I love the sound and feel of a diesel, there is nothing like it. But I leave these feelings out of my posts in this thread because they have no real bearing on facts to bring to this disscussion. I am not sure that facts are what we are disscussing, but

(Pappy probably has about 320RWHP FWIW)

When I drive my diesel sedan, I am getting 500 miles on the tank even at 90 mph. Sure enough I don't like the tickets, so even having ValentineOne, I preffer to follow a "radar volunteer" at a distance. Quit often those are V10 powered. The real problem following them is that they don't last more than 2 hr before they have to pull over to gas station.

I'd love to know how you are getting 20 mpgout of a 6.4. I couldn't get that out of mine if I put it in neutral and shoved it out of a plane at 80,000 ft.

I feel the same way when I read some of these guys getting 16's with their V10. If I pray real hard, catch a tailwind and run my tires at 140 psi I couldn't get that kinda mileage. But then I discovered that you need to figure internet claims kinda like dog years. If someone claims there truck gets 20 mpg (or whatever) you subtract a certain percentage, the younger the poster, the higher the percentage. Then you factor in what they owe on it and subtract another percentage. The more they owe, the higher the fudge factor because nobody wants to actually admit their truck isn't worth what they owe AND gets bad mileage, right? Then go back and count the amount of ridiculous arguments they started sticking up for their truck, the more outrageous the claims, the higher the correction factor. I suppose we could make up a chart for this, but I'm too tired from working every minute I can to pay for gas!

Now I have to say that hauling my 2002 Airstream 30' Classic (about 10,000 lbs) with my truck weighing in at 8100, I passed alot of diesels towing similar weights including Fords, Dodges and Chevy's going up the mountains in Utah and Nevada. Mileage average for the 7,000 mile trip towing my AS averaged 8.4 mpg. I can only go by that and SOP feels like rwhp is over my totally hopped up 7.3. I would be happey to attach my mods on my 2002 7.3 so it will show as a comparison.
