It takes two more cylinders for your truck to do what mine can.
Havent heard that argument yet.lol
That's fine. Most is in good fun, but some take it to heart and what they say is sometimes just way off.
If you look back I never really engage in the arguement of V10 vs PSD. Each has its place. I throw my 2 cents in comparing diesels from Ford, GM and Dodge.
This is a great thread!.....I just sit here and read it for the shear entertainment value!
However..........I find myself gravitating to the V-10 side for ONE reason........My neighbors on either side of me have diesels, one has a PSD, one has a Cummins.....Somedays it sounds as if I live in a truck stop!...Between the noise and the stink, I think the V-10 sounds better all the time!
.........but to pull 20k for 10 to9 14 hours a day is beyond a 3/4 or 1 ton with 3.73 gears not happening with any PSD................
Actually when I had my hot shot that is exactly what I did with my F350 w/3.73's. Registered for 42k gvw, most of the time ran around 30k. 3000 miles a week and the psd never missed a beat. After 120k miles I ended up moving up to a medium duty so I could up my gvw to 50k, but regretted it. Should kept running the psd or moved to a big truck and gone for 80k gvw.
I would really like to see how a V10 would hold up hauling like that?
So why did Ford with there all new 08 F 450 King Ranch ONLY give you the option of the 6.4 DIESEL. Why because they figure you towing a lot and want to give you the best combo. They don't even offer the V 10
