Now THERE'S a couple of worthwhile applications of black smoke! Two reasons I would consider getting the "smoke" setting when I get a DP.

Police dont bother diesel around here. I know of quite a few who have some real bad *** diesels themselves. I blew a little smoke on a cop the other day on accident and he didnt pull me over.

crap, i did not think of the height.
Do you have a drop hitch? That would make it fair.
You have the 4R100, the 6 speed or the Torqueshift?

you will pull me then, the 1st gear in the tq shift will make it just flat unfair.
I think the 1st on it is like a whole 1/3 lower than on the 4R100.
with your trans problem, how long since the atf was changed and what did you put in it?
with my 4R100 ever time it needs to be changed it starts shifting worse and worse.
As soon as i change it, it is like new.
I use to use store brand atf, but now I use castrol.
I will see how that holds up to the heat from towing.

"rollin coal" is overfueling the engine.

With the intent to make your self feel good.

Does not provide any more power.
Only makes you feel good.

I read about 685 posts in this thread and it's become very clear that the V10 is a better engine than any other engine, from Ford or from any other maker or brand. I appreciate all the good objective posts because it's sure made it easier for me to understand the pros and cons of each, the PSD and the V10, and now it's so clear that regardless of use, no matter what, in any and all circumstances the V10 is just better. Thanks guys! You can go back to sniffing diesel fumes!

Don't forget the hearing loss from the rattle too!

IMHO, I think it's your heated mirrors with the integrated turn signal that give you the advantage!

You're probably right, how would I be able to tell how many PSD I passed without heated mirrors, at least in the winter!
