I am getting ready to tackle this job myself. I have done everything in the past up to removing the gear, pinion and the inner seals. All seem relatively cut and dry. I am concerned about rebuild. What am I looking for as far as shimming and positioning when reinstalling.

    Hi,
I found an old thread where you posted pics about cabin air filter kit. Would it be possible for you to scan the installation instructions and email to me?

Thanks for the reps! Happy to pass the info along to save somebody else the unpleasant time of figuring out the dimensions or going through the trial and error I've been doing (it's definitely NOT the fun part of getting new stuff)!

Funny how guys love derailing a thread to argue about something personal. Thanks for helping get things back on track. :-)

No, I haven't ever used one. They are designed to handle the temp and pressure of the high side. I have seen them used before, i've just never installed one personally. My rule of thumb is to replace the affected parts in a catastrophic failure. They are getting harder to find, I wanted to use one a few years ago and the packaging of it in the car didn't permit it's use.
