Did you get the polar bear fur interior option on that?
I went for the baby seal skin seats, the whale blubber bedliner and the 25.6 liter propelling system, which consists of 4 6.4 psd's independently driving each wheel. The prototype had 4 V10's but it took too long to fill up the 200 gallon tank with those tiny auto gas pumps not to mention the damage a flying spark plug can do to a tire.
By the way, how did the whole v10 vs. psd thing turn out?
My 1/8th miles times are posted here for all to see
10.6 stock and 8.9 tuned....
STILL haven't seen anyone from the 'gas fume' side post up anything OTHER than BS...
I've posted my findings before with datalogs to prove them.
In this thread post #30 has some of the datalog screencaps: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/6...ml#post5611100
The basic summary:
Did 50-70mph runs because that's the typical speeds needed to pass another vehicle.
50-70 stock=5.29 seconds
50-70 tuned=4.68 seconds
That's an improvement of .61 seconds unloaded.
Then I hitched up 6000 lbs of travel trailer(30 ft long, and just over 11 feet tall),and repeated the same test.
Here's where proper tuning and power enrichment really shine:
Stock 50-70=13.51 seconds
Tuned 50-70=8.98 seconds
That's a HUGE improvement of 4.53 seconds. That's a long time to be on the opposite side of the road passing.
Tried to do 0-60,but it had rained earlier in the day,and it spun like crazy tuned, and some stock,so that'll have to wait for another day.
JL
I will sum it up for you.
they pretty much are a dead tie, but the V10 is better with a big load on a long hill. Rev the V10 to 4 to 5 grand, hold it to the floor and it will get to the top before the PS will. The PSD with rip the out of the V10 on the low end.
Then when we ran out of things to say, we ( to V10 guys ) made 6.0 jokes and the PSD guys made " 10 holes in the hood " BS V10 jokes.
that is about all.

IIRC, the numbers presented said the psd would make it faster, the v10 just topped the hill at a higher rate of speed.
One thing we found out is the v10 guys like to complain about the fact that the psd has a turbo

Assuming the loads are equal, and the truck weights are equal, the truck with the higher horsepower will get to the top of the hill first, provided that the overall gearing is optimal to keep the engine at its peak HP.

If you really want to get technical with the equality, add an intercooled turbo setup to the V10 and see what happens.

Higher rate of speed = faster...... What part of that do you not understand? If a Diesel is stuck at 45mph towing a 10k load up a 16% grade, a v10 starting at 30mph but then achieving 60 mph on the same hill will eventually pass the diesel. It just depends on how long the distance is.
The sad thing about the second part of your statement is that if one was to remove the turbo from thier PSD, it would be gutless. As in GM 6.2L diesel gutless.
Lastly, just to add to the fire; the saying "real trucks are diesel" should be changed to "real trucks aren't PSD".
