My V10 is stock, 2v non PI. 3.73s and 4R100. I have towed up to 18,000 gross.
It is lacking on the low end, and with these gears I can not get the revs up to peak HP tell about 35mph. Once I have gotten up to that speed, I can keep up with traffic easily.
I tow 2-4 times a weak, most loads about 15k gross.
I have driven a 7.3, 2 V10s and a 5.4. All 98 or 99.
The 5.4 with an empty trailer was pathetic.
The 7.3 has a lot more at low rpm, but the V10 in the right rpm range pulls much harder.
I'm in the DFW area, Bill. Considering the quote in your sig, would you like to meet up and do some real-world comparisons? I'm being serious here -- not trying to be a smart-azz....

OK, I might be taking a tractor through there early next month.
I do not want to compare my 265 HP 98 v10 to your 05 325 hp 6.0.
You need a 05- V10 to compare to.
Well then you don't want to meet me either. When you guys talk HP, y'all need to specify flywheel or rear wheel HP. The last time I dyno'ed, it was 311/681 at the rear wheels and I've changed a few things since then. I'm estimating 325 and closer to 700. For now.

wow, what mods have you done?
when i talk HP, I am talking about flywheel.
I have seen rear wheel dyno numbers for the first (97-99) V10s, they are about 198-204 RWHP depending on the truck and dyno.
And love the cat footage - worried it was going to tip over there for a sec ! ! !
Wasn't sure how far they could lean safely.....
i run then for a living. they will slide before they tip usually. and you can get them to stay sideways on about a 50* to 60* degree slop depending on the dirt.
