Gas vs PSD
i can build a 4 cyl to turn 9k rpm and make 345 hp, so it should outpull your v10 too shouldnt it? it doesnt matter that it only has 200 lbs of tq because it has more hp. right? when it comes to comparing the v10 to a diesel you v10 guys say the v10 is better because it has more hp. but when someone brings up the tundra(which has more hp than the v10) you say the v10 is better because it has more torque. so which is it?
Too funny.....
but now that some have indicated their ages by "in school" , "my dad's".....
understand more of the funny stuff..... carry on.... I'm done....
offered and offered and offered and no takers.... no timeslips, nothing but
"Nannie, Nannie, booh, booh... My v10's, better than YOUR engine...." (IF you lose the turbo, If you..... )
have fun !

Ford 1999-2004 6.8L/V10/2 Valve Supercharger
Whipple Industries
Whipple Industries, the leader in supercharging performance with industry leading technology, developed this bolt-on system for optimum performance and reliability unmatched by any competitor. With the Whipple twin-screw supercharger, boost is instant allowing for more low-end torque and incredible throttle response. Power from idle to redline, a unique feature only available to the Whipple Charger. The 6.8L SC system creates incredible low and mid range torque, great for all towing conditions.
With incredible reliability and fuel economy in mind, Whipple implemented a specially designed air-bypass system that allows the SC to only take approx. 1hp to operate under cruising conditions. This equates into incredible fuel mileage and unsurpassed reliability, simply years ahead of the competition. This is only possible because of Whipple’s revolutionary interface computer system that works with the stock CPU taking care of all the necessary engine functions to remain emissions legal and maintain proper operation in all conditions. The interface system constantly monitors the oxygen sensor and knock system outputs for OEM like reliability and safe operation. If a problem comes about, the “active boost control” system will decrease boost instantly (a Whipple exclusive) so the engine acts as if it were naturally aspirated, all but eliminating undue harm to the engine. Each system offers up to 50% increase in power, while still maintaining unsurpassed reliability and low noise levels. No one in the world combines so much quality and technology into a complete bolt on and simple to install supercharger system then Whipple Superchargers. While others claim, Whipple delivers!

• Twin screw Whipple Supercharger

I posted something along the same lines a little while ago, and got a bunch of hp and torque math. Thread has been so busy I havent had a chance to catch up on everything yet though.
Oh and I used a 500 horse honda civic as one of my examples haha.

hp is good for making you go fast but if it amounted to a hill of beans in towing then you wouldnt see 400 hp big rigs or 40 hp bulldozers.
take my turbo coupes for example. the normal 2.3 of the day had about 120 hp and my turbo coupe has 190 hp. ford didnt just slap a turbo on the 120 hp 2.3 and call it a day. they detuned it down to about 80 hp and then put a turbo making 20 psi on it to bump it up to 190 hp. that way you get the performance of 190 hp when you get on it, but the gas mileage of 80 hp under normal driving conditions. its the same thing comparing a 7.3 non turbo to a 7.3 turbo.
like john said though, if you want to start modding the engines then put some info up there about the diesel too. once you start modding them this isnt even a debate.
I'll post it here and get ALL kinds of excuses, reasons, stimulus, about ...
so why bother ?
If ANYONE is ANYWHERE DFW let's have some fun
I DON'T know what's, what - just offering, ONCE AGAIN, to do a head to head - that's all....
we all know a 12 second run @ sea level is WAY different from a 12 second run at 10,000 feet
(or at least most of us do
