Looking good Jeremy. Have you recharged the AC yet? Don't know if this may be a problem or not if the compressor decides to try to kick on. Anybody know? Just hate to see a stumble out the gate.
That engine compartment is looking sweet. BTW, try some Blue Magic on those pipes. I used to use it on my 5.0 exhaust tips. It lasts a looong time and simply sparkles.
Jet's correct, I am using a Dodge radiator fan and shroud. It's just not visible in those pics, but there is most definitely a fan there.
Not running yet. Had to tend to some work this morning and now I'm off to get the wire to make the battery cables. When I get back, I'll start to work on it.
Mike, AC is not charged yet. Don't even have the lines hooked up to the compressor right now. The AC shop wanted detailed measurements for length and orientation, so I'm just going to drive the truck to them and let them take a look and measure. That way, if the lines are messed up, I'm not to blame and they should fix it. I've also got the electrical connector for the AC compressor completely unhooked, so nothing should trigger it to kick on.
Oh, I don't know about that, but since this began in April, I would say that we are looking at a matter of hours now. Comparatively speaking, that is imminent in my book.
I have really enjoyed reading about this adventure, and completely appreciate your no-compromise approach to engineering.
Like you said a while back [paraphrased], "Make it look like it was a factory option".
Kudos!
Here's toasting the successful initial firing!!
Pop
Jeremy I have to agree with Pop. You have done an outstanding job with this project. With the workmanship, pictures and the detailed writeups that you have done for us. Thank You for that. Good luck on the initial startup.
Aaaahhh I'm sort of fidgeting all over. I think I quite literally can't wait. Perhaps a bit selfish, considering it is Jeremy's truck, afterall?
Nope!
Jeremy, sure hope you can video the rest of it from here - first crank, startup, getting kinks worked out, first drive, second drive, third drive, etc... I'm a sucker for that stuff and will lap up every second of it. It's been damn fun following this project, and absolutely awesome of you to have been documenting it so assiduously all along the way. Great record/resource, this thread should prove to be for others, says I.
I'm seriously jonesing to see this thing up and running.
