It's getting quite close now. My plan of working on it all day today was shot to pieces as I had to catch up on being gone over the weekend and yesterday. Finally got to it this evening though.
IC tubes are installed. I had some extra time before I left on Friday so I decided to put a light polish on them. They're stainless steel, so hopefully they'll hold the shine for a while.
Air filter/intake is completed and installed as well. The filter is the AFE version of the 6637, with one of Pete's covers on it.
Tomorrow, the coolant tank will be installed, lower radiator hose bent into place and hooked up, truck filled with coolant, and make a few new battery cables to hook up at least one of the batteries. I think it might be ready to fire tomorrow! If it's still light outside when I get finished up, I'll fire it up. I definitely want to fire it up first time in the daylight, so I can look for any leaks or other problems. If I don't get all that stuff finished up until it's dark, then I'm going to wait until Thursday to get it fired. For the time being, I'll just be running one battery to get it running. It shouldn't be that much to get the second battery mounted up under the truck a few days later. It's getting there!
I love the polished IC tubes, I don't know why they wouldn't hold the shine. The destroked cover really sets the motor compartment apart! Freaking SWEET!!!
It is simply amazing the attention to detail that you have given to this process! Car/truck manufacuring engineers should be green with envy with your skills. Great job Jeremy!
Looks like there is a radiator fan in the first set of pics. the one on the right looks like you get a glimps of what might be a fan...maybe
He used the Dodge fan and shroud...
Jeremy, did you fire this thing yet? Hell, it's after ten.
We've had mine running with the compounds, but no drivey, still waiting on the rear end... and the tranny, and the, it never ends... but I've got a few months before the '09 season starts.
