That is right! The 5.03 is the best tuner on the market hands down. I have used just about every tuner/module on the market and can say you did a great job Vic!
I asked this page or so ago, but realize it was just before the holiday- Can I load the programs from the SCMT into my truck if I set my Banks unit to the lowest or “stock” setting? I’d like to try it out to see the difference between a computer tune and my Banks fuel box. If the SCMT is better, I’ll just E-bay the Banks.

Only if it's on the STOCK setting and you can resist the temptation to change it from the stock setting.

Thanks Vic- I can easily resist the temptation- this rig cost me too much to risk damaging it. I'll let you know how it goes once I get the tuner, and will probably contact Motorhaven today.
By the way, I too was swayed to the SCMT by the great, unofficial, support Vic has provided here- Vic, you ought to show this stuff to your boss and get credit for generating more sales!! I would have gone with a different product had I not read this thread. Thanks again.

Just for the record, I've ordered the SCMT from Motorhaven- supporting our sponsors and all. Should have it in a couple of days (missed the FedEx cutoff). I'll let everyone know how it compares to my Banks fuel box. Thanks to everyone here for their inupt, data, and opinons.

The SC1704 fuels using 100% of the throttle input so keep that in mind. You will see a huge improvement in shifting as well. If you want lowend use the towmode if you want great response and power the HP mode is the best. I stay in HP mode, it reduces turbo lag quite a bit.
Ok unnoficial double biased fuel mileage report here. All stock truck, Superchips 1704 tuner Performance mode, Synthetic Rotella T 19.52 MPG driving at a constant 75 mph, no romping to pass ect ect. Same as above, but at 85 mph with romping on it to pass 15.9 mpg.
As much as I hate to endorse it, and start another controversy, I am sold on the synthetic. As I averaged 17.5 with the tuner in economy mode at 75 mpg, with no romping to pass.
Vic, I still have yet to get the dealer to look at the actuator, as was trying to trade the truck today for a 05 4X4 with no luck, they wanted me to take a $10,000 hit. HA HA HA!!!!!!!!!
I'll let them cool down a few weeks especially after buying the extended warranty today, before I hit them with "this thing pulls my travel trailer like a piece of crap" line.
I know that you aren't in to the stroking aspect of what you do, but I am absolutly 100% pleased with your product, and support. If only Ford were to copy you and your companies enthusium.
Hey guys just found your forum and must say it sounds like I hit gold, alot of good info. I just bought a 04 F350 6.0 Desiel 4x4 4 dr manufacture date 10/03. This thing drives and rides like a dream. I came from a dodge cummins dually.
My question. I bought my Super chip 1704 and wow what a ride. but my gas mileage went down, dropped from 14.3 to 13.4-13.2, according to overhead console. Regardless of even returning to stock it stays at 13.4. is this correct? will it go back up.
Also had to take back to dealer today for main seal leak, also just started chugging in am, do you think this could have been caused by installing SC. I have installed to HP, ran a couple of weeks, then went up north so moved to towing (due to 4-5K load), then after 2 weeks moved back to stock to see if mileage would change. About two weeks later noticed the chugging; has gotten worse this past week.
Lastly where I live it is flat, where I go hunting it is mountain/hilly. I want to run a couple of gauges exhaust/boost to monitor during those up hill low speed, towing 5-6 k of trailer and ATVs. is this a good or bad idea. is it wise money spent?? what do I order?
Do you reset the overhead? You need to press the two buttons at the same time to reset the calculator. It continues to average the fuel milage over some number of tanks.
So if you were getting very frisky with the SCMT when you first got it and dropped the mileage down but are now being good, it may take several tanks for the mileage to being to climb again. When you reset the lie-o-meter as we call it it will begin averaging based on your current consumption. You can even use this as a quasi instantaneous mileage meter if you want to see what you are getting climbing a hill or running at cruise speed on the flat. Just press the buttons and presto it starts over from scratch.
I usually reset mine each time I fill.
I tow a 10,000 lb toy hauler trailer and use the Tow Safe tune most of the time. I've never seen any temps to worry about. So with 5 or 6 k worth of weight I don't think you'd have a problem. Never hurts to add the gauges though. I believe that my money was well spent on them.
DarylHunter thanks, did you put the boost and exhaust temp gauges in, did you change your boost or leave stock...or maybe does SC change it?
can you recommend a set of gauges? I want something easy to read, back lite, and pillar mount
and when I push both overhead buttons, do I just hold for a minute or just a couple of seconds. I have not done this before. I ran a couple of tanks thru and not reset and no change in lie-o-meter reading.
Push both buttons at the same time and release after a second or two. You should see the display go to 0.0 if you are sitting at a stop. It will jump to some other value if you are moving.
I have the X-Monitor. See my gallory for a photo of what it looks like. It has three gauges all in one unit, pyro, tranny, and boost. My truck is an '03 and didn't come with a boost gauge. I did do the install my self.
Check out the forum stickies and you'll find lots of info. Also you can search on pyro meter and see lots of info.

Greetings. I’d recommend that you go to the main page of the forum and browse the thread subjects- there is enough info there to keep you reading for weeks. We try to keep each thread focused on the subject. There are threads for gauges, exhaust, mileage, etc., and all of your questions will be answered in them.
Everyone will recommend gauges- EGT, then Boost, and maybe Trans Temp if you tow a lot. That’s what I have on my pillar. You can get them anywhere- go to Motorhaven.com, one of the sponsors of this forum, or just search Google.com. I have Autometer, others like other brands. Mine look like a factory install, and work great.
I run a Banks Six-gun fuel box with the Speedloader and see much higher EGTs than those running the SCMT or other tuners. I can’t imagine life with out an EGT gauge- I’m an aircraft turbine field engineer, pilot, and lead foot.
