Good morning WA...and...wandering enthusiasts...Happy Weekend Eve!!! Woke up this morning with a coating of white...but...that should be gone soon...high temp near 50* this afternoon.
Wondrous Weekend Eve Washington, Tim and all the crew. I hope everyone rested and are ready for the up coming PARTY!
I have had the ringing for most of my adult life. I worked in a printing shop while in High School and hearing protection wasn't used back then. We had a "Paper Press" or a multi column press for printing News Papers. We ran it most every day and it was so loud when standing next to someone in that room, you had to yell really loud to talk.
You hear birds chirping and I hear musical notes like a radio is on in another room and turned down low. It some times gets loud and it is worse at night when the power is out and their are little to no otherr noise!
Good morning friends far and wide. Yesterday turned out to be a wonderful day, clear sky's and warm.
We had some butterfly bushes that about all but died last year. Maria dug all five of those out yesterday, getting ready for something new.
She also ordered two new cherry trees.
I started moving things around yesterday to get out car trailer out. I bought a new 9000 lbs winch the other day and I to do some modifications to the trailer. I set it up a few years ago for a winch but it needs to be reinforced.
Good morning WA...Happy Saturday For All!!! Gonna be a rather nipply day here with a feels like temp in the mid teens...where did the 50* temp we had yesterday disappear to??? Hope MA Nature takes better care of you!!!
I got early today to put a Brisket on the smoker. Started the day at 41° with a little breeze.
The one problem of living in the hills in a ravine is things get stacked up, like the car trailer. I had to move the back blade and the boat first, but I wanted to put the car trailer where the small utility trailer was parked. Thanks to the tractor it's easy to move things like that.
Sensational Saturday morning Washington, Tim, Ken, Wayne and all the crew. Winter is back, 34° at 1100est and white sheet falling! Yesterday was sunny and 63°!
I did my weekly running around yesterday and did my shopping, Grocery shopping, Post Office to get the mail, stopped and saw my buddies at AutoZone and had lunch!
With the weather today, I will stay inside, stay warm and stay lazy! LOL
Sunny Sunday morning Washington, Tim, Wayne, Ken and all the crew. Started the day with clear skies and 19°. Already up to 25° and headed to about 55° this afternoon.
I am off to Mom's soon for out Sunday routine.
Good morning WA...hope y'all had a great weekend...now...back at it for those of you who are still at it!!! Gonna be a mild day here...hope you're getting one as well!!!
I only made it to the shop for a short time. We put Maria's new dump trailer to use and cleaned up a bunch of stuff around here. It sure was nice just backing into the dump spot, pushing a button and watching the trailer unload itself. I did manage an afternoon nap though.
I've been thinking about my 18,000 mile 1990 F250, the dang thing has a 460 in it and I doubt I will use it much at 8 mpg. So I'm looking for some opinions.
1. Do I pull that 460 5 speed out and swap it with a 453 Detroit and a Allison automatic?
2. Park it and plug up the shop?
3. Sell it to someone who would love it and appreciate it for what it is? (Any offers?)
I'm probably not the one to tell you the best answer. I've never been one to keep anything stock or get exceeded about seeing a bone stock 18,000 mile truck, It's just not that exciting. If you have the means swapping in a 4-53 Detroit sounds interesting. I don't know anything about the 4-53 other than what I just looked up. It doesn't sound like your fuel efficiency is going to be any better. But what the heck.
In my opinion you have two options.
1: Sell the truck as is and buy something you like.
2: Do the Detroit swap. Get rid of the Ram thing on the hood, the horns maybe even the grill guard. Put a little lift on it and some bigger tires and wheels and you will have a pretty cool truck!
