Evening Tim. Just getting all the chains strung out can be a project as well as putting them away. I was tussling with a stump in the woods two days ago. It was a 18-inch Cherry that had been cut off at least 15-20 years and I decided to use the front blade on the tractor to budge it out of the middle of the trail since it only stick up about 4-5 inches. It started moving good and I thought it was going well when it slipped under the front blade frame, and I was hung up on it. In addition, I was on a side hill and slipping sideways into a 12-inch Ash tree. After a bunch of back and forth I was able to pick up the front of the tractor with the front blade high enough to get down there and yank it out of there by hand. Otherwise, it was a 1/4 mile walk back to the barn for tools. Makes you feel pretty good when something like that is over.
Rain here last night, changing to light snow about daybreak when the temps dropped to freezing and the cold north wind blew through. Back to rain now but clearing and 34F. Nothing at all like these guys experienced in their Model T with 1935 Spokane County registration...
Good morning WA...welcome to the weekend!!! Woke up this morning to a dusting of white crap...flurries all morning won't amount to a whole lot. Hope MA Nature is treating you better!!!
My wife and I worked outside all day today, trimmed up an Elderberry tree that had several dead branches and proceeded to the burn pile. We were unable to burn everything as the all the leafy stuff on the bottom of the pile was still frozen and just too wet.
That's some pretty country you have there, Tim. Do you have acreage up in those hills?
Cold and heavy overcast all day today with a frigid north wind blowing. So far the groundhog is turning out to be a liar. The snow geese seems to like it well enough though.
Sensational Sunday evening Washington, Tim, Wayne, Ken and all the crew. Beautiful day in my woods with full sun and 41°. Too bad I took a head cold and didn't feel like getting outside and enjoying it!
