CP4 Implosion!!! CRAP! CRAP! CRAP!

if I have to change the fuel pump once during ownership and DPK does it’s job then I’ll gladly take it over the 7.3. I’d rather enjoy the other 99% of the time towing with it before settling for a lot less power to pull things in a gasser.
it’s always funny the folks with gas trucks are the ones who care most. I’ll never understand it.
As you know about two weeks ago I picked up my truck from the dealership after the fuel system replacement. Not long afterwards my Ford Customer Experience Specialist contacted me and offered the following which I accepted:
- $500.00 compensation for the loss of use of my truck for 36 days.
- A Ford Limited Maintenance plan that covers scheduled maintenance like oil and filter replacement, tire rotation, and multi-point inspection, etc. My truck will be covered up to 3 years/45,000 miles.
Ok, so I drove the truck from Central Texas up to Steamboat Springs, CO for a little vacation time with the wife. The truck worked and did NOT leave me stranded but about halfway up there, I did notice an issue. Something is just not right with low-end engine power (before turbo kicks in). I am not sure if it is starving for fuel or air, or what.
Symptoms:
- Intermittently there is no power from a dead stop until the turbo spools up.... There were a couple of times when I parked on a steep hill where I was not sure if the truck was going to move forward or not from a dead stop. When it is happening, you can feel a vibration sometimes when starting from a dead stop. This stall happens until the turbo builds boost which can take a few seconds. Very odd.
- If you rev the engine from idle, the engine really shakes and vibrates. You can feel it throughout the entire truck. Once the turbo kicks in, it smooths out. I am wondering if a cylinder is not firing as that is how it is acting. This seems to be consistent - all the time - i.e. NOT intermittent.
- Driving the truck at highway speeds - it seems fine unless you really get it on it to pass someone then it lags until the turbo hits full boost then the power returns.
- Note: At idle, the truck seems to be smooth. Truck starts perfectly every single time.
So I am not sure what is going on. It got us up to Steamboat and back (about 2500 miles). I dropped it off at the dealership this morning. I will keep you update.
Thanks!

Maybe has a boost side leak in the turbo pipe or a connector.
No check engine light or any codes???
You know, mine ran great after picking it up, towed the uhaul car trailer with the rental car on it and got the best towing mileage I've ever seen on it, over 16 MPG.
Of course, it is now back in the shop with a water leak at a hose connector that apparently the tech didn't get right when he put it back together.
Hope I get it back Thursday like my local dealer is telling me, as I have a job lined up again, like the one I lost out on this past weekend.
did you verify/see the metal shavings in the pump screen fuel filter? Maybe they just sold you a pile of junk for extra money? thinking it was that, etc.
Sounds to me it's the same issue and the problem didn't go away, same as tour very first post. Maybe your torque converter is slipping/weak causing this issue. There was a guy on here a month or so ago (maybe it was you) complaining about the same issue. I suggested a BD solenoid for increase line pressure in the trans to shift harder.
I believe he had the trans rebuilt or something, or had had a new torque converter. If I recall anything correctly😆 a few months ago.
