That’s not bad at all. Hpop could be possible. Does it start fine every time or does it struggle sometimes?
depends on your definition of fine haha. Has a “romping” issue where the rpms jump from 600-800 repeatedly until I hold them steady at like 1200 for a few seconds. But always cranks a normal amount of time

I guess some people have that problem for years and ignore it
Yeah that’s interesting. I’m not sure what all the symptoms of a real weak hpop are but I’d imagine it would be something like that because it’s not firing the injectors correctly. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable chimes in soon I’d like to hear others thoughts

I had a diesel mechanic look at it and he thought it was a weak HPOP, but didn’t know for sure. Probably gonna get a CNC stage 2 or adrenaline to be sure haha
Little more power never hurt anyone (except my buddy’s 6.0). I kid. But it is always nice to have a little more kick when you need (or want) it
I haven’t heard of anyone having issues with too strong of a HPOP, but if that’s a thing I need to do more research lol. Just figured I’d spend a little more money now to be ready in case I ever go to bigger sticks
Oh no no issues with a bigger pump. Definitely a good upgrade to do. I think they say you’ll get better mileage too. Which definitely doesn’t hurt these days
Injector choice will impact hpop requirements too. Hybrid injectors are easier on the hpop.
Yeah that's part of why I'm thinking HPOP. I need to look back through the records the PO left me to see if these are 160/0 or 180/0 injectors. Either way, not the easiest on the HPOP I'd imagine
Well... I think I found my problem. During the revamp of parts in the engine bay I picked up a RiffRaff intake hose to replace my cracked stock one. After a bit of reading on the P0344 CPS A circuit intermittent code I got today, a bunch of people have found the harness under this hose chaffing. Not sure exactly what to do. Can’t get the OEM one anymore, and I figured this would be a nice hose, but i think it’s too stiff and pushing pretty hard on that harness. Probably doesn’t help that I have a fuel line there from my e fuel system. Can’t remember if there was a stock fuel line there or not
Dorman makes them here is the part #904-189
Alliant part # AP0015
Or you can do the 99-03 valve cover gasket and connector so its not located on the bottom of tbe intake boot

I’ve been thinking about the 99-03 swap but didn’t want to dig into that until the fall haha.

I think the SD one plug option would be nice. But it's still like 300 for the parts and requires quite a bit of rewiring.
It’s pretty much in the only position that it will line up with the intake. And the hose is bent in by the fuel line on the opposite side. Idk if it makes a difference, but maybe my S&B intake box makes it worse than factory
Mine with a 260k area pump ran mkay on lower tunes, anything past that would fall on its face. Buck. Pour black smoke out. Once I had a fresh pump, world of difference. Now it is a haze on the top end. Sounds like you need an HPOP...do not shoot the messenger. It will shoot back.
Hey, it made it 25 years. ****, some of us do not make it that long.
I would have tried the CNC Fab but their Stage 2 was out of stock. I have heard nothing bad about them. I have the Dieselsite pump, no issues. Works for me!
PS - order 910s while you are at it. Only the kool kids have them.

yeah HPOP has been in my mind for a while, so I won’t shoot the messenger on that. The HPOP in this truck is older than me lol, so I can’t complain. Now... on a different, definitely shooting the messenger note: I have done zero research on 910 valve springs. Convince me to buy them. Go.
