I converted from the old IDI style to a new mishimoto rad. Once you pop off the top 3 bolts on each side and disconnect the hoses it'll pull out
well... I guess I’m going to do the drill and tap method first... but if that doesn’t work I’m getting a mishimoto. It’s only $100 more than an orielleys replacement part. Just would rather put $400 towards a HPOP rather than a radiator that my dumb *** snapped while pulling turbo bolts
There's plenty of low priced all aluminium rad's on ebay my man. I bought one for one of the work trucks so far is holding up great close to a year now iirc.

After this experience I want to do this in the somewhat near future (so much for almost done with the engine bay). Just going to put this after the HPOP, and I'll probably do some of those fancy silicone hoses at the same time.

$188 plus tax from my Autozone. If that tit broke that easy, check for the date code cast into the plastic end tank.
Mine is on borrowed time, it is dated early 2000 and I really do not trust 20 year old plastic.
I called Orielly's, Advanced, and Napa (my only local options) and every one of them quoted me $296. I'll check the date code when I get home this evening. My guess is that it is OLD.
Can always just order from their site and drop ship. 188 is with the 20% off coupon.
Yeah the main reason I am not ordering one now is that I've been without the truck for a week (its my daily) and need to have it running on Sunday.
So, here is how I got to this situation: I got the turbo and up pipes 90% pulled last weekend to swap in the rebuilt turbo and new up pipes, and then realized that CP Addict sent me superduty up pipes by mistake. Then I was dumb yesterday and broke the nipple off. My other vehicle is currently my tacoma which I pulled the rear driveshaft and exhaust off because I bent the crap out of both of them on my last wheeling trip, so its FWD and dumping after the cats. Not a fun drive. Anyways, after CP Addict wouldn't cover the cost to expedite the shipping to ensure I have the parts this weekend (they just sent them regular ground, could be here today, or Tuesday, not a clue) I called Clay at RiffRaff and ordered his bellowed up pipes which showed up yesterday. I'm picking up a 10mm 1/4" drive universal joint socket on my way home from work, so I should be able to pull the only remaining bolt (driver rear turbo pedestal bolt) and have everything ready for reassembly in the morning. So if anyone on here is looking for a set of bellowed up pipes, I will have a set brand new in box DieselSite OBS bellowed up pipes next week that I would be more than happy to let go for under retail so I can just forget about this project haha. So with all of that going on, I'd rather try my luck at fixing this for now. But if I replace the rad, it will be an all aluminum one because I don't want this problem resurfacing
Update: I got the turbo and passenger side up pipe out. Trying to borrow a porta power from a friend in the morning to push the driver side firewall back and get the driver side up pipe out. Snapped a bolt off in the collector. Drilled a hole in it. Snapped an ez out off inside the bolt. Calling it an early night. This might be the most unlucky project I’ve ever had
I have a Porta power if your friend falls through and you need to borrow it.
Sucks you're having this much trouble with it.
i might have to take you up on that. Yeah I can’t seem to catch a break haha. I can’t remember from when I read through your thread, have you done your up pipes?
I remember doing my up pipes. What a nightmare . I didn't break any bolts thankfully but I did have to massage the hell out of the drivers side to get the old pipe out. I had to use the diesel site H2E pipes. I hope hour project starts going a bit smoother. I know how lame it can feel when everything's going bad.

Still on 246k obs turbo, 1.15 AR turbine, stock wheel, leaking up pipes. Wasn't such a big deal at sea level but up here it's terrible.
I have started the T4 parts collection to fix that.
.83AR housing should arrive today, looking at slowly ordering parts as to not break the bank.

Well you’re definitely doing it right, I figured new up pipes and a rebuild on the turbo would be good for a long time for me. The up pipes were leaking like crazy and after pulling the turbo it had a decent amount of play. But a friend gave me his old 1.10 turbo (which is what mine was) so really all I had to buy was up pipes, rebuild kit, balanced assembly, and a deleted pedestal

Yeah I’m going to get started here whenever I feel motivated this morning haha hopefully I can get the bolt out and the up pipe out
