If must not of been to much of a hoot, I did not get a disco ball video at 03 hundred this AM...... with Free Bird playing in the background. Your initial pre start up tune needs to be Jimmy Hendrix playing the anitham.... at least the 1st few rifs.
Here ya go, Rich. Now you've got disco *****.
Edit: Just for continuity purposes, the pic does show some new work on the engine. If you look really hard, you can see the stainless steel bracket I made for the dipstick tube.
I filled the pan with break-in oil, then used my gutted distributor / pre-luber with a cordless drill. It made 90 psi, and all the pushrods were oiling their rocker arms. I slowly rotated the crankshaft about 20 rotations, and didn't see any dead spots on the oil pressure gauge. Happy, happy!
Then I pulled the distributor body, and just used the shaft to turn the oil pump shaft, so I could see how well my oiling modification works. I couldn't be happier. The second pic shows down the distributor hole, without the shaft turning. Third one is with shaft turning, and you can see the steady stream of oil that's squirting directly where the distributor gear will be. Yippee!
What about your set up inspector? What no pic of that? Glad all is well in the oiling dept. Looking good, looking real good.
Scrappy wasn't there this evening when I pre-lubed, but she was there last night when I installed the motor mounts and thermostat. Crazy bitchkat jumped up on the engine and checked it out. She wasn't pleased with all the RTV spillover on the intake manifold, or the lack of comfortable lounging space, but she approves of the overall build....so far.
Engine is ready to run. I finished welding solenoid bracket and couple more inserts on the test stand base. Painted it this morning. Gotta make the lower brackets for the radiator, and wire the stand, then I should be good to mount the engine.
Only thing left to do is a bracket for the MSD box, and then wire it up. That's Scrappy's sister, Baby doing the inspection. She picked out the decals.
I was gonna put flames and pinstriping on it, but I was told those casters couldn't handle that much torque.
LMAO! Choked on my coffee Osha says steel toe boots, eye and ear protection and call your neighbors before you fire it up unless you don't care for them let er rip. LOL

I don't have any neighbors near enough to hear it, even with open headers. But I won't fire it up until I've fabricated a short exhaust system with cheap mufflers. And I was wearing shorts and flip flops when I fabricated those lower radiator brackets.
