So when is the open for business sign at Ford (takin orders?) for my 450.
Buying it to haul heavy payload, 5000+...diesel man here, but the 7.3 got me wondering, could it be the 7.3 = 6.7?????
JMO. I think when it all washes out, the 7.3L will be a disappointment to those who think it will compare to the PSD.
There is no comparison to diesel torque at lower RPM. The gas engine will make nice power, but I see higher RPM and your gas pedal planted to keep up with a diesel that’s just out for an easy stroll..

George, not going to call you wrong, cause I have NO IDEA. That said, they already have a gasser so why build another and why make it bigger.
Ever seen the torque curve on a Z06 Corvette? Flatter than my first girlfriend without her wonder bra on. 650 lbs of torque shows up strong just off idle and goes flatline till about 6500 rpm. Now if Chevy can do it, so can Ford in my thinki ng. The 7.3 could be a torque monster at 7.3 and the right configuration. Especially if FORD is building to the end.
Dunno, just a Z06 guy!
It would be nice to save about $10k on the diesel...but would take a lot of convincing for me to leave diesels behind with over 5000+ in the bed of the truck and a trailer behind me...
