Hope it sees the road again, there's a guy here in town that has a 49 I wouldn't mind and has been saying for 38 years he's going to restore it and it's been in pieces that long..

Yeah that would be really neat if you and pops worked together on the 2 trucks, Great memories would be made!

Ok so it might be time to get back on this. I have the welder series MII cross member but need the arms and hubs and all that. But I’m not sure what to get. Is speedway motors a good place to buy from.
not sure on what kind of shocks I would need as well. I bought the coil over cross member

Places like Heidt's or Fatman fabrication might be able to help with your control arms..

so I am looking at purchasing this from speedway. but not sure what bolt pattern I should get. the 9" I am using out of a 84 f150 I believe is a 5x5.5, and they don't offer that as one of the bolt patterns, what do you guys usually do

Rotors are available with the 5 X 5 1/2" bolt pattern, likely all you need to do is ask. That rear differential is too wide and will need to be narrowed to fit..you need to either find one 1972 or older or use one from an Explorer earlier than 2002 which does have the 5 x 4 1/2 " bolt pattern..

ah ****, I was hoping to use that 9" from the donor truck. there is a 97-8 explore at the local junk yard, I glanced at the door code but can't remember what it was. should of taken a pic. I really wanted a 9" rear but that might be pretty hard to find a car around here that had one,

I'm thinking that diff is about 4 inches too wide or wider that the original which is 60 inches hub to hub. The Explorer is 59 1/2 inches. I used one from a 98 which gave me disc brakes, also used 1/4" spacers so I could use a 8 inch wide rim with a 4 " back spacing..hope this helps..

Hey Fullyford,
We paid $225 U.S. for our 8.8 $140 looks like a deal. Disc brakes, Ltd slip diff., 3.73 gears.
We also got the emergency brake set up as we didn't have one. There was some really odd third shock kind of thing
on top of the diff that we didn't use as well. We did have to use some spacers to get it to look right in the fender.

Looking good up there in Canada.
