I am planning on doing this soon. Has anyone swapped over to a console shift from their column shifter? I did this on my Ram 3500, the 1500 shifter and cable hooked right up. It was pretty slick as I prefer the console shifter over the column.
I'm purchasing the parts to assemble one as I didn't want an used one. Its quite a few parts and isn't cheap but it is cheaper than the $900 MSRP option listed for a XLT. As Tricon states above, and he told me as well, it should be an easy swap and looking at things, I'm in agreement. The dash bezels will probably be the roughest part and I've had those apart before. No big deal there. If you're interested in parting one together, I'd need your trim level and trim color.
Hi, I’m new here and hate to start my first thread with a favor but...
Any chance you could put a parts list together for me? I just sold my 08 and picked up a 2018 f250 lariat, sadly the only thing I didn’t get was my center console and I don’t think I can live with it!
its black leather interior but I’m not sure what the trim is called? Maybe you would know from the attached pic?

I'm in the same boat as you, there is a parts list at the beginning if this thread. You just have to adjust for the different color.
I took my original list which was for XL/XLT owners and have added the changes in bold red for a Lariat with Ebony (black) interior. Prices have gone up a lot since I did this originally.

Rims Plus out of Lafayette LA. offers a conversion for about $500 (wiring harness, parts list, and instructions). So you still need to buy the parts on top of it.

Weird, some Ford dealers show its discontinued. I got my parts list done, I think for mine with Camel interior. I'm curious, does the USB charging port also include the 120v socket? If not can it be integrated? I have the one on the dash. I so also unsure about the replacement bezels around the vents. One is showing in stock, the other discontinued but I found them on eBay. What is different about these compared to what's in mine now?
Well...I did it. I just bought a console off Ebay from a F150. It was one of the nicer ones I've seen for a decent price...only a few minor scuffs from seatbelt use.
I'll need the cubby to put in place of the shifter, and the two dash pieces, and I should be set!

I can't help ya with the electrical, as my truck doesn't have the AC power outlet. But you will need the dash bezels. The console slides up and into the dash a little bit, and the new bezels will have the cutout for it.

Got my console installed over the Holiday weekend. It wasn't cheap but was cheaper than an option if I had ordered it. It was definitely a worth while upgrade as its a very nice console.
I bought the two HVAC duct work pieces for $20 so that the rear vents didn't work in just the heat (floor) mode. The under the seat ducts are only active in heat (floor) mode. I wanted them to work like OEM design.
Here is where you need to remove the cover at the bottom and attached the duct work.
Duct work that attaches to existing piece under dash.
Attaches to previous piece and then to console
All installed
So does your rear 120 plug work with the mentioned harness?

So I found one also on ebay, looks nice and the right color. Just to verify, the consoles from the F150 are the same other than the shifter piece?

What is a decent price? Just curious as it seems prices have escalated recently.
Also, if buying F150 console with a shifter, which specific pieces do you need to buy to make it look like SD? And are those easy to find, reasonably priced, and easy to replace?
