Hey guys. I have a 19 XL, with 1 usb port, 1 cig lighter under the climate control, 2 12v under the vent next to head unit and (1) 12v on center jump seat. I’m going to be doing this console swap. I am not a master at anything wiring or even a novice. I know I can get a console and it has all these extra things. I don’t understand what repin means. What I have gathered and this was a lot to read: people are having issues with the fact of getting the extra stuff they have to work. The plugs in the back? I need the most dummy proof way possible of getting this explained. Can someone give me some understanding of how to do this? There’s a decent video I saw of someone doing it. He has the exact same set up I do in a f150. But he lost me at wiring because he didn’t show the wiring and how it was done.
I would like to know what I’m tackling before I drop the dough for all this.
thanks ❤️
edit: saw a video that really explained a lot. Correct me where wrong: this was an f150 he did it in. On console swap, he plugged in the passenger side, that controlled all the 12v. One in the front by USB, center console interiors, and the back seats. He then swapped his SINGULAR, usb port, into the center console. He doesn’t have an inverter, hence, no use for the 110. Ambient would more than likely need to be spliced. And tbh, idc about ambient. NEW QUESTION: can I swap from a single USB, to a double USB-C? A single usb-a and a single usbc-c? Or do I need a different connector to make that happen?
If you buy a console, yes, the plug shape matches but the pins probably won't.
My 2017 F350 has the inverter, jump seat only had a 12 volt on the rear. I received the console today and after reading about wiring issues, thought to trace both my truck and console plugs. The truck wiring colors “almost “ matched the drawings plus 2 pins were different than shown.
I finally finished tracing wires, diagramming them. One sheet for the truck, Another for the console. The console I used a small 12 volt battery and tester to see what each pin powered. Being the console was out of a F150, I made quite a few changes. Thank you Flyguy30263 for answering my question of how you re-pinnind your plug. I ended up moving 9 out of 10 pins, only one matched my truck. Even the inverter at the back of the console will work, all lights, etc.
Saturday I will install it. Fyi, even though Tasca says Armour right side trim is unavailable, it was available.
This information looks most helpful. But the pins/wires are different from my 2017 truck. I have a Lariat f150 that had the jumpseat with single 12v outlet in rear. The only other electrical connection was for the key (pats). So my seat harness had 4 wires. 2 for key and 2 for 12v plug. My truck harness has 14 wires. This the floor connection by passenger seat.
I bought a console from a 2017 f250 (platinum I think). I can trace these wires down. But I need to know what the truck harness wires are so i can re-pin the console.
I do have inverter and the console has 2 usb, 12v and 110v on the rear.
Can someone help determine the truck pinout?
Here's the 2017 Pinout for the floor connector. The USB connections come via the front (dash) area connector (C215). Note that early 2017+ consoles didn't have rear USB ports.
Got my console installed over the Holiday weekend. It wasn't cheap but was cheaper than an option if I had ordered it. It was definitely a worth while upgrade as its a very nice console.
I bought the two HVAC duct work pieces for $20 so that the rear vents didn't work in just the heat (floor) mode. The under the seat ducts are only active in heat (floor) mode. I wanted them to work like OEM design.
Here is where you need to remove the cover at the bottom and attached the duct work.
Duct work that attaches to existing piece under dash.
Attaches to previous piece and then to console
All installed
okay so i have the exact same setup as you with one of those after market double din carplay units but i cant seem to find that trim piece that fills in that gap between the dash bezel thing and the actual center console sliding tray. help!!

So I found the diagram listed in post#174. I’m so confused still. Are the grey dots where I’m supposed to have pins? And if that’s the case I don’t think I have enough pins. Can someone please help?

It appears in post #243 that the gray pins are blanks.
Mostly thanks to this thread I successfully did my console swap in my 22 XLT! Thank you for all of the input from the people that have done this in the past.
I'm curious, has anyone has taken the lock out of the jump seat and put it into the console so that your key works with it? Not even sure if its the same in both of them. I might disassemble my seat if nobody has tried it to see if its possible.
Does anyone know how to figure out exactly which parts I would need to get for my specific truck? I looked up a handful of the part numbers listed from @h20camper 's original list but, according to Ford Parts Giant, quite a few of them "do not fit" my truck. My truck is a 2022 F350 XLT.
On a side note, I found a complete King Ranch interior (seats, dash, steering wheel, door panels, etc, like everything) on FB marketplace. How hard would it be to do a complete interior swap?
