Shawn, I don't know whether to laugh or cry. But at least the job is finally done

I'm still working on my garage clean-up remodel repaint project that I started on a couple of months ago. I removed everything from the wall between garage and house so that I could tackle it next. I never thought it was a great idea that they just let the sheetrock hang down over the cement blocks. So I know now with everything taken off this wall, this is the best time to address that.
Nothing to protect the bottom of the sheetrock. It's not even either; in some places you can get your fingers up behind it - that's a favorite spot for dirt dobbers!
Marked the best height to cut the bottom off and then popped a chalk line.
I have a lot of used boards from my son's deck, so I grabbed some of the 1x6's and made myself a row with them. This should be a lot better than just open sheetrock ends, plus now I could take the opportunity to make sure it fits flush all the way down.
The next thing I need to tackle is the sheetrock above the garage door. But obviously the blue F100 needs to be pulled out before I can do this.
Before I move it, I have to clear everything off the tailgate which has become a workbench / storage area.
My temporary storage bench made from sawhorses and plywood would be a great place to put stuff while I move the truck, but it's already full.
In order to move the temporary storage bench I have to get everything off it, but I have nowhere to put it until I finish repainting this corner of the garage and putting the racks back together.
Needless to say after doing this countless times as I go through the garage section by section, the areas I cleaned up and painted earlier this Spring are already cluttered again! It's a vicious cycle I tell ya.
When she was away I was going to paint the small bathroom that I wanted to do back around the holidays first of the year when she said she would handle it.
Well 7 months later it is still not "handled" and being she did not go I dont dare try and do anything.
I was even thinking if she did her normal Saturday thing with the pet adaption I could bang it out, yes it is that small, but she did not go to that either.
If she goes food shopping tomorrow maybe I can get the mirror mounted in prepping for paint?

Unfortunately, as I move stuff around to clean and paint, areas that I already fixed up and made nice are getting cluttered again. Still I know I have made progress because I have given away and thrown away a lot of stuff, plus I have moved a lot out to the attic of the workshop for storage.
Maybe next year maybe I can have someone put up some sheetrock on the ceiling; I know that is a job that I can't do myself.
Here are some before & after pics.
I started out cleaning all the crap under the steps and repairing the access area underneath. Now it's plywood that can be easily removed if needed.
Underneath my workbench has been a storage nightmare / spider heaven. But I got everything out, cleaned, and painted.
I had stuff on these shelves I had not seen in 15 years, because it's so hard to get up there. But I made a homemade ladder that is the right size and was able to clean everything out.
These cabinets got evicted from the house about 20 years ago and became garage cabinets instead. They were in bad shape, but I repaired them and painted them white.
Some examples of cabinet problems I had to deal with; mildew, rot, funk, and damage caused from a leaky container of cleaner. Each cabinet is repaired and now sits on 5/4 deck boars to keep them 1 inch off the floor.
When I tore out this built-in shelf area, I decided to see if anyone might want the plastic John Force sign before tossing it. Good thing, because I got 25 messages asking if it was available!
Another built-in that I removed. Heavily damaged from humidity and just really an eyesore.
I still need a shelf to put oil and trans fluid and WD40, so I made one out the leftover workbench top and an old Mustang bumper.
On the near wall by the steps, I cut off the sheetrock that was just hanging unprotected and put some leftover deck boards there, painted them white, and now it looks a lot better.
Before doing any more work inside, I needed to get the 83 F100 out. I have an old driveshaft which I took the u-joints out of, and toss a bolt through the hitch receiver thing and voila!
After fighting with the garage door opener over the past 2 years, I decided to get a new one. It's 1-1/4hp whereas the old one was 1/2hp, and it's a belt drive - very quiet!
I never even finished putting up sheetrock above the garage door 25 years ago, and no paint has ever touched any of it. So I finally finished this job and put a couple of coats of paint on it. Looks so much nicer finished.
I got rid of old hanging shop lights and my ceiling fans and replaced them with triburst lights that I saw advertised on TV. I will say they are much brighter with the door closed, however when open the door blocks 2 of them.
My wife has had this 9'x5' memorial flag for 18 years. I had it dry cleaned, obviously it is still very faded, but I bought some tapestry hangers off ebay and mounted them, so now I have a good way to hang / display the flag!
A drywall lift might be a good investment for the ceiling job. I bought mine off of craigs list. And might be a good idea to attach some purlins to the trusses. Might make it easier to line up the rock.https://raleigh.craigslist.org/searc...ce=&max_price=
There's already one row of sheetrock so if I added purlins now it would make the rest slightly lower.

Thing is keeping it that way

Every few months I go through cleaning part of my garage, 2 of the 3 bays I just cant get to so I dont touch them.
I try hard to keep the bench clean as it has bins with nuts / bolts / screws, the drill press w/ drill bits close by, vice, free space, bench top tool box.
I also have a work shop area with a large table that I cleaned off not long ago to repair pillar covers but this weekend I painted a small bathroom and the paint supplies are now on top of it. I need to put them back on the shelf so I can use the table and walk around in there again.
I am going out there in a bit to work on the pickup AC, was too hot yesterday.
Maybe when I am pulling a vacuum on the system I will put the paint stuff away.
Maybe I can have eveything done by 11:00 so I can meet up for ice cream

I got Bailey to follow me home to look at the garage, he was impressed "wow it's clean in here!"
Maybe now I can start doing some car work (sure now that it's 100 degrees...)

I was messing with the AC on the pick up.
I would have been better off going for ice cream as the system is not working.
The compressor might be bad?
Don't what to do at this point may send it out to get fixed?
Dave ----
I replace a leaking oring pulled vacuum on the system for over an hour that was after pulling vacuum for half hour and let it sit for half hour.
When it would not pull in the charge from 2 cans using 2 different hoses I gave up in sweat!.
I have some things to check but I am not holding my breath.
Dave ----
A little ratty but that's what old car parts are for right?! The license plate is from when we were stationed in Germany back in the 90's.

Back story, The AC in the pickup stopped working a few weeks back.
Because of the gauge readings I felt the used compressor went south.
So I ordered a compressor, Evap coil, dryer and I even have a new orifice valve.
The hoses, condenser, dryer and valve in it now were all new a year ago.
I will swap the parts and pull a vacuum but I dont know if I want to charge it or send it out?
If I send it out and I have any issues I can take it back to them.
I am just tired messing with it.
