Names Adam by the way, I just put in on my signature.
Thats the block before disassembly look how clean that thing is, iirc that thing had over 400k on it.
It does look really clean. I have a late '97 engine on a stand in my shop that I have been wanting to build for my truck for a couple years now. Not sure when the funds will become available for that though. It will just sit there until they do though. It's not eating anything! LOL! I really hope you do a compression test on your engine before you pull it. I would love to see what the compression on an 800,000 mile engine is!
I did one last july, they all were between 365-375, cylinder 8 had the 365. Ill do one just too see wich was the cylinder that failed, but for now she still kicking like a mother effer has not lost power but is hazing lightly and blow by is just getting out of control. On sunday I opened the valve on my catch can and found 1/2 a quart of oil, maybe 500mile use.

Those comp numbers are pretty impressive for a motor that used. Looking forward to seeing this build Adam.
Ill just wait on the machine shops call so I can order my rebuild kit from Riffraff. Im anxious cant wait, hopefully in the next month or so the mule will sport a new heart, lets see if the tranny will hold.
The compression # were done with a cold engine, never did it when hot so it might vary some.
Unrelated but wanted to share, boss bought my old man a new truck for deliveries( hes the material man the one that takes all materials to job sites) his old truck 05 f350 cclb dually with flat bed, after 360k pain staking miles she will be put for sale finally. Well enough chit chat heres his new truck dont get mad its a ram
2016 ram 3500 HO cclb dually
Great truck lots of powa
Heres another pic to show how much oil the blow by is pumping out
The poor old Mule Personally if I ever had to choice one of the new trucks out it would be a Ram 3500 Mega cab DRW. I don't like the new Ford it is ugly and the 6.7 isn't something I would want to deal with.
Also if you look a new Dodge dually bed it has nice clean lines. Where the new Ford dually bed is just butt ugly!!
So luck for me Blackie ain't going anywhere.
We have also a 2015 f350 ccflat bed with the 6.7 its proven itself but only has 70k so will see, so far not a single thing has broken on it (knock on wood)
