Sorry to be a nuisance but I didn't see how many miles on the motor? Probably somewhere in the 18 pages of your thread. Sorry to hear about the problems but it sounds like it will end well.
The mules engine seems to be ok for right know, still has blow-by but no dead miss while cranking, or while idleing. Still havent had a chance to talk to my machinest.
Any way that the piston cooling jets might of broken? Never crossed my mind. Sounds possible there were reports of prople having cooling jet problems
This crossed my mind the other day. I know the spouts will come out of the flange and fall down in the oil pan, but I would think that would become catastrophic quickly with the lack of oil on the piston, but maybe not. I don't know.
It started out of the blue, it started with lite blow by fumes with no pressure, then it progressed to what I have now, there might be a chance thats what happened. Cracked piston would allow for blow by gasses to get thru. Will see when ever I remove the engine.
Talk to my machine guy and said theres a possibility that I can stay std size pistons/rings if not he says .20 over he said that its the first diesel engine he saw this clean and with very little wear (engine had over 400k when removed iirc) ill still need a quote (he was busy) heads are also getting freshend up, with a valve job, valve seats, valve guides.
