Thanks guys, I'm trying to visualize running the vent and filler tubes but i can figure that one once the bed is resting on the frame. I might have to shorten the metal filling piece that attached to the bed.
I did the Hutch mod last night since my parts came in, now the sending unit doesn't sit flush against the tank it has to be forced down about 1/4" is that normal or do i need to press the tube farther down the pick up foot it currently sits flush with the inside of the foot.
Awesome good to know thanks man I'll look at it more when i get out of work. Yup worked out perfectly that was an awesome find thank you! I am going to do the harpoon mod this weekend when i get some cutters vacuum the crud out of the tank and then seal it up.
Hey guys we likely had this conversation before but what is the general thought of copper nickel brake lines with Hydro-boost brakes and the increased pressure over vacuum brakes?
Also does the airdog have a bracket that needs the frame to be drilled or is that just the older ones and the new design is no drill bracket? Just trying to gauge if i should buy it before or after lol. MY goals for tonight are to get the passenger side shock tower drilled out and the two new shock towered modified and mounted.
Ok so i got one of the Carli brackets to fit finally! I ended up working late so i didnt get as much time as i thought to work on the truck.
Now that i know where i have to grind the other mount i can do it tomorrow and mount up the second one after i drill out the olt one and it's rivets. The Carli Bolts are 1/2" bolts so they are pretty hefty bolts, the bolt pattern is slightly different so i will need to drill two new holes but that's it. It's not horrible to get them to fit a 11-04 and for the added beefyness it's worth it IMO.
I had to take away a decent amount of structure but the shocks will not have such a high impact that it will break or bend the bracket...if they do then th etruck is probably totaled. I could have left about 90% of the material i removed on i had to keep fitting and grinding and knowing what i know now i only have to round the corner of the bracket on the fram and grin a little away to make the swoop on the ribs almost flat on the bottom.
FYI guys i bought my F6-750 OVerhead console yesturday as well as some Poly Body mounts for the cab. Mine are about to go they are racked and some are split badly on the passenger side. My plan is to POR all the way up to the second set of body mounts and then continue from there after i wrap up the rear of the truck.
God damn summer is just about here and i really wanna drive the truck! lol.
Just got caught back up. Sorry I haven't been commenting I have been working then get home and work on the trucks don't even have time for the computer. LOL
