Or something like that lol.
Damnit i read the 4 wheeler article and now I really want it lol.
Do you guys ever check out Carli suspension systems? Deaver springs, custom valved Bilsteins. All sorts of cool stuff. They specialize in heavy duty trucks.
Now you've got me interested in the OME lift. Hrm... this is just terrible for my bank account, almost as bad as my RC trucks.
I gave up RC trucks when I got my driver's license. I still have them all, but they are expensive as hell. My nitro truck's shocks were more expensive than the set I put on my SD....

Agreed. I also want it.... I'm very curious if the ride quality is worth the money... Its awful pricey just to look good.

Definitely worth looking into IMO I've been reading up on it and looking into Carli's coil over systems i cant wait to see what they come out with for the 99-04 trucks! If its not a massive improvement then i wont even bat an eye at it because its so pricey lol.
With that being said, instead of the coil overs, you may be able to have a spring shop make you a custom set of leaves that are much softer than standard lift suspension. From what I gather, the trick to a nice riding leaf spring is to use several thin leaves instead of a few thick ones. And you want to paint the springs with the graphite based paint so that they slide over one another easily. I'd bet a spring shop could make a set of 4 for less than $2k which would put you in emu territory price wise. Then it is just a matter of finding a shock that is a good match to the springs.
Lol don't worry about derailing we all derail all the time until i post pictures.
Are you referring to the screws that hold the plastic liner to the fender lip? I had two which were 10mm and they were about 1/2" long i reused them for my flares. There may be 3 per side but i only had two one on the front and one in the top of the arch the lower side towards the cabd i just got some self tapping screws and used then to go through an existing hole in the fender that looked like it was for a screw because my dad put mud flaps on it when he owned it which used its own hardware.
Does this answer what your asking? Nice looking truck in the sig btw man!
Thanks for the info and the comment on my rig = ).
I used those two existing bolts on the front as well for the flares then used the self tappers.
Pictures as promised i apologize for the crappy quality i didn't have my work light set up so there wasn't enough light for my phone camera i will start taking pic with the fiances nice camera she got for her photo class
Before:
After i had my way with the new sawzall he he he
I tried to mock up the Ex skid plate but i need to get the ends out fof the fram first and notch the skidplate to clear the exhaust. My exhaust might get in the way though...you should all know what that means then
Also i am thinking about getting some new rear shock mounts that way i can POR behind them and also the Carli ones look a good bit stronger since they wrap around the top of the shock and it bolts through not into the side of the mount: http://www.carlisuspension.com/ford-...ockmounts.html
That was my first though to but if you read the instristions provided it says they become side specific for 05-07 which is the same as 99-04 correct? So going off that i was assuming instead of either bracker mounting to either side it should just be specified.
Those look really nice Matt. I am thinking with those Carli mounts, you will have to move your bottom shock mounts in on the axle inward. Those new ones are made to clear a 3" King shock so I bet they offset the shock from the frame rail. That being said, I wonder if they would interfere with Excursion tank. May be worth a phone call with Carli to check if they fit Excursion.
Never thought of that I'll try and contact them to see what they say. I know the tank skid plate needs to be notched though, the document i posted before never mentioned it but i noticed in a couple of the pictures towards the end of it that some of the plate had been cut off.
